TEXT: LUKE 6:12-19
TOPIC: BE AN INSTRUMENT FOR NOBLE PURPOSES
The Lord Jesus spent all night praying. Yet, the Spirit led Him to choose Judas, who would later betray Him, to be among the twelve disciples.
No matter how prayerful we are, we cannot avoid certain trials because some of them, like Judas, are part of God’s divine plan for our lives.
On the other hand, we need to be very cautious that we don’t end up suffering the fate of Judas, fulfilling the negative prophecies of God. Proverbs 16:4 says: “The LORD Works out everything for his own ends even the wicked for a day of disaster.
However, 2 Timothy 2:20-21 says, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.
If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work”
QUESTION:
Have you cleansed yourself to be an instrument for noble purposes?
PRAYER:
Search me, O God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me on the way to everlasting life, in Jesus name. Amen.
