TEXT: DUETERONOMY 33:27-29
27. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’_
28. So Israel will live in safety; Jacob will dwell secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew.
29. Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.”
TOPIC: HE IS OUR DWELLING PLACE
The dwelling of God is a place of safety and rest. Our reading reveals that God is a dwelling place for the righteous, fully armed with everlasting weapons to drive out enemies, and cause them to run and cower before Him. If Israel makes Him their dwelling, they will be secured to enjoy the fruit of their labour in the Promised Land. Today, those that make Him their habitation shall have all the comforts and benefits of a habitation in Him. Are you exposed to dangers and in need of safety? God guarantees protection and safety to all generations (Psalm 90:1). His dwelling and presence is not too holy to behold sin. Therefore, consecrate yourself and make Him your stay and dwelling place.
REFLECTION: God’s dwelling is a safe haven.
PRAYER: Father, today I make you my dwelling place, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
