Topic:DO NOT COMPLICATE DIVINE LOVE
God is love. He who follows love follows God, and he who is guided by love is guided by God.
You may say, “That sounds so simple.” It is!
The apostle Paulsaid, “But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts
and the choicest graces). And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one that is better by far and the highest of them
all—love]” (1 Corinthians 12:31 AMP). Then
Paul said in the next chapter, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of
angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and
understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing” (1 Corinthians 13:1–2).
Paul was saying that even though we may speak with tongues, even though we may have the gifts of the Spirit operating in our lives, if we do all these things and have not love, they are worth nothing.
Further in this same chapter, Paulsaid, “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is
not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:4–6).
You can have everything in the world, including all the knowledge that the finest universities can give you, but if your
heart is not full of love, it is not going to amount to anything.
But if you will be guided by love, you can experience some of God’s richest blessings in your life.
