Topic: The Matter Of Service
To be too big to serve is to be too small to lead; until you have served successfully you cannot lead effectively.
SCRIPTURE: “So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority” -Genesis 39:4
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be too big to serve is to be too small to lead; until you have served successfully you cannot lead effectively.
Service implies the act of being useful to somebody in satisfying the desired need of that person.
There are two major types of service: service to God and service rendered to humanity. Service is the surest key to both spiritual authority and earthy authority.
Service is a crucial requirement for leadership. That is why to be too big to serve is to be too small to lead. Until you have served successfully, you cannot lead effectively. How you serve today determines whether you will be served tomorrow. Your service today is a seed that causes you to reap a harvest tomorrow. It was Dr. Mike Murdock who once said ‘What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.’ Assisting others to see the fulfillment of their visions makes God assist you in the fulfillment of your vision. Joseph interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh’s Butler and the Baker, the outcome was that God caused his own dream to come to pass (Genesis 40:5-14, 41:1-45).
Beloved, your destination is a possibility for as long as you can assist someone to arrive at his own destination.
