.SUB-THEME: PEOPLE WHO SOUGHT THE PEACE OF THE LAND.
TOPIC: CHLOE’S FAMILY.
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:10-13.
10 Brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, I urge all of you to be in agreement and not to have divisions among you, so that you may be perfectly united in your understanding and opinions. Rom 12:16 Rom 15:5 Phi 2:2 Phi 3:16 1Pe 3:8 [2Co 13:11]
11 My brothers, some members of Chloe’s family have made it clear to me that there are quarrels among you. [1Co 3:3].
12 This is what I mean: Each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to the Messiah.” Act 18:24 1Co 3:4 1Co 16:12 [Act 19:1] [1Co 3:5] [Tit 3:13]
13 Is the Messiah divided? Paul wasn’t crucified for you, was he? You weren’t baptized in Paul’s name, were you?

REFLECTION COCIN Devotional 29TH MAY 2023
MESSAGE:
Quarrels and schisms have wreaked the peace and growth of many families, churches and communities. It takes people of integrity to seek remedial ways. The church of Corinth boasted of diverse spiritual gifts yet they could not solve trivial issues. They were plagued with divisions which affected their unity. However, Chloe’s household took a bold step to report the matter to Paul, not to indict any individual member, but to proffer solution. Quarrels are likely to happen in relationships. When they occur, we should try and make up rather than break the relationship. Are there quarrels and schisms around you? As a spirit-filled believer, do not meddle in, ignore or laugh over ‘trivial’ issues that are portent to unity and peace. Find a way of resolving them.
