David and Elisha responded to the challenge with a positive confession. David said to Goliath, “I come
to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel” (1 Samuel 17:45).
David firmly declared his belief that he could not lose because God was with him. Elisha likewise declared, “Do not fear,
for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16). Both declared that God had given the victory.
