Topic: Time Is Running Out
[DCLM Daily Manna 31 October 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Revelations 18:1-8 (KJV)
Key Verse: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Revelations 18:4).
MESSAGE:
Emergency services world over colour code their warnings in crisis times. The emergency warning is red, signifying the highest level of risk to life and property. All these are intended to help people keep safe in times of danger. Neglect of such warning signs can prove disastrous.
With the pronouncement and announcement of judgment on Babylon, God has given the world an emergency warning.
A glorious angel proclaimed with a loud voice that Babylon is fallen and has become a den of abominable things. The evil influence of this world’s system represented by Babylon is shown by the depth of corruption and compromise it exerted on all nations, kings and merchants.
To demonstrate God’s mercy, love and grace, however, another voice gave a warning call for His people to come out of her and ‘not be partakers of her sins, so as not to be partakers of her plagues’.
Lot was warned to come out of Sodom in order not to perish in the overthrow of fire and brimstone. The children of Israel, in the wilderness, were warned to separate themselves from the tents of Korah, Dathan and their company for them not to be swallowed up by the earth. For Israel and Judah, “the Lord God of their fathers sent …His messengers… because he had compassion on his people… But they mocked the messengers of God… and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy” (2 Chronicles 36:15,16).
Today, God’s people are warned to come out of the corruption and compromise of these last days. To neglect such warnings is to tread the path of doom. Act while there is still time, come out and be safe!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Read the warning sign and run to safety.
