MESSAGE:
The Christian Value Magazine tells the story of a group of people who planned a “hurricane party” to welcome hurricane Camille in Pass Christian, Mississippi in 1969. They wanted to hold a party through the storm even though they knew the apartments were directly in the line of danger. They spurned the persuasion of the police chief, Jerry Peralta, and the officer left after collecting the addresses of their next of kin. Scientists clocked Camille’s wind speed at more than 205 miles-per-hour and the worst damage came at the houses known as Pass Christian, Mississippi, when 20 people were killed at a party in the Richelieu Apartments. Nothing was left of the three-storey structure except the foundation. They were warned, but they chose to arrogantly ignore the warning.
Israel sinned against God and He allowed her to be invaded. The invasion of the Assyrians was a warning that God sent to jolt them to the reality of divine displeasure. But instead of repenting, in their pride, the leaders and the people of the Northern Kingdom of Israel ignored the Lord and His Word.

The twenty-first century has also produced the generation of arrogant sinners who mock God and His Word. Irreverent behaviour and lifestyle, arrogance and stubbornness have increased in many religious circles. In the face of natural and, sometimes, man-made calamities, men remain unrepentant and sometimes insensitive to prevailing dangers. They would not humble themselves and turn from their wicked and rebellious ways.
God’s judgement is real and certain. His desire is that every sinner of any status, shape or colour will come to Him in contrition and humility. He wants you to forsake sin and live, for He is a God of mercy that pardon iniquities.
Thought For The Day: Fools mock at sin.
