SUB-THEME: THE GOD OF PEACE.
TOPIC: DOES NOT DELIGHT IN THE WICKED .
TEXT: ISAIAH 48:17-22.
17 “This is what the LORD says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who directs you in the path by which you should go.
18 Now if only you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your success like the waves of the sea. Deu 32:29 Psa 81:13
19 Your descendants would’ve been like the sand, and your offspring like its numberless grains. Their name wouldn’t have been cut off or annihilated out of my reach.
20 “Go out from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans! With happy shouts, announce and proclaim this to the ends of the earth: Say, ‘The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob!’ Isa 52:11 Jer 50:8 Jer 51:6 Jer 51:45 Rev 18:4
21 They didn’t thirst when he led him through the desolate places. He made water gush from a rock for them; he split open the rock, and water gushed out. [Num 20:11] [Psa 74:15]
22 “But there is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.” Isa 57:21
TOPIC: DOES NOT DELIGHT IN THE WICKED.
MESSAGE:
God treats the righteous and the wicked differently. While the righteous enjoy God’s salvation and peace, the wicked are swept in his wrath. In addition, the righteous enjoy
God’s tutorship, direction; increase and benefits of being his children while the wicked do not enjoy any of the above but are doomed for condemnation. The deliverance of Israel out of Babylon proves God’s ability to rescue believers from the
claws of the wicked. You will never enjoy peace if you adamantly continue treading the path of wickedness such as killings and
dismembering human beings, robbery, rape, domestic violence, kidnapping and the likes. Always pay attention to God’s word and enjoy his peace like a river. Shun wickedness!
REFLECTION:
There is no peace for the wicked.
PRAYER:
Father, forgive me of every wickedness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: ROMANS 15:33.
“The God of peace be with you all. Amen,
