Prophetic Focus: PRAYER AND FASTING EMPOWERS FOR DOMINION – Isaiah 58:6-14.
Message Topic: ENGAGING THE POWER OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR DOMINION. Pt. 3A.

It has previously been established from scriptures that the church in these last days is ordained for supernatural dominion Dan. 7:27. That means there is a crown and a throne for you. However, nobody ever accesses the throne to dominate without empowerment. It takes power and authority to command dominion and this is what the power of God Psa. 110:1-3. By dominion, no sickness, financial stress or any human wickedness shall be able to take away your peace again. If the church is the body of Christ, then the only place the enemy will be found henceforth is under our feet Rom. 16:20.
It takes prayer and fasting to access power. Jesus Himself whom God has given the ordinance of dominion never entered into power until He fasted and prayed Lk. 4:14. Nobody that truly partakes of a true fast is permitted to return weak or empty. He or she must return empowered. By the wisdom of God, the last days are days of prayer and fasting Mk. 9:14. The last days began from the ascension of Jesus to glory. In scriptures, it is emphasized that it is not if you fast but when you fast. Fasting and prayer is God’s wisdom for the empowerment of the saints.
Fasting and prayer is also a platform for expedited answers to prayers. It makes your prayers to be answered faster, and that is one of the reasons it is called fasting. Whatever prayer does, fasting expedites and makes faster Isa. 58:8. Fundamentally, fasting and prayer makes us access what God has ordained for us.
WHAT HAS GOD MADE AVAILABLE FOR OUR DOMINION IN THESE LAST DAYS
1. SUPERNATURAL WEALTH.
God has made available for us supernatural wealth that will enable us to reign on the earth Rev. 5:10-12. After power comes upon one, what must follow is riches. This is so because as long as this earth remains, the rich will always rule over the poor Prov. 22:7. Therefore, if the church must command dominion in these last days, it must command supernatural wealth. When Isaac was introduced into this realm of supernatural, he waxed great and the philistines envied him Gen. 26:1-12.
It takes power to get wealth Deut. 8:18 and it is also as a result of the blessing of the Lord Prov. 10:22. Through the altar of prayer and fasting, we are empowered to lay down what we are supposed to lay down so that we can access what we need to become supernaturally wealthy. Prayer and fasting takes from us our selfishness, self-centredness and myopic nature and to see the big picture of what God has in store for us by our giving Jn. 10:17. This is what made the Macedonian church to give even in their deep poverty 2 Cor. 8:3. This power empowers us to give towards kingdom advancement and not to focus on our own needs Hagg. 1:3. It takes money to spread the gospel across the nations of the earth Matt. 24:14, Zec. 1:17, Prov. 11:24-25.
2. CONSECRATION.
It takes consecration for us to enjoy the honour and dominion of our God because before Jesus comes, the church must be glorious and unblemished on every side Eph. 5:27. We need the power of consecration to live an unblemished life as vessels of honour unto God Isa. 52:11, 2 Tim. 2:19.
Consecration means living to please God always Jn. 8:29, and this is by empowerment with the spirit of holiness Rom. 1:4. When we please God as the order of the day, we begin to enjoy dominion as a lifestyle Matt. 17:5,14. The altar of prayer is the altar of consecration that empowers us for dominion Jn. 6:63, 1 Cor. 15:34, Isa. 52:1.
PROFITABLE APPROACHES TO FASTING AND PRAYER
It is possible to fast without result Isa. 58:1-3, and this is why we must understand the right approach by which we must engage in prayer and fasting to obtain the desired results. Some of these right approaches include:
1. We must forgive those who offend us Matt. 17:1. If you don’t forgive others, you are blocking your access to God Mk. 11:24-25. When we forgive others, our heavenly Father forgives us Matt. 6:12.
2. We must come reminding God of His word, which is His will. God does not forget His word, but when we remind Him of His word, we are expressing our belief in Him Isa. 66:2, Isa. 43:26, 1 Jn. 5:14.
3. We must engage in praying for the need of others because whatever good thing you make happen for others, God will make happen for you Eph. 6:8 and the best thing you can do is bearing the burden of others Gal. 6:2.
The most important step to engage profitably in prayer and fasting is to be born again. If one is not born again, there is even no basis to engage in fasting. Therefore, make the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour if you have not done so before. If you have previously done that before and went back on the faith, then return to Him today. As you do this, the dominion agenda for the saints in these last days shall be made manifest in your own life.
