TEXT: LUKE 6:37-42
TOPIC: CORRECT BUT DO NOT CONDEMN.
The passage today is often misinterpreted to mean that we should not correct each other.
That is wrong 2Tim vs 42 says: “Preach the Word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.”
Galatians 12 further says, “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently But watch yourself or you also may be tempted”.
So, where we see bad behaviour or conduct, we should correct it. What the passage is saying is that we should not judge a person and pass a sentence of condemnation on them because, as human beings, we are terribly limited in knowing the whole truth about the person’s behaviour or action.
Only God really knows the motive behind the behaviour and judgment and condemnation of someone should be left to Him alone.
QUESTION:
Do you correct or condemn people?
PRAYER:
O’ God help me to correct and not condemn fellow brethren, in Jesus name. Amen.
