THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When character is concretised, destiny is defined.
It has been confirmed that character is a vital force that guarantees the fulfilment of one’s destiny. It is true that when purpose is discovered and potential is also discovered, developed and deployed, destiny can be fulfilled.
However, there are forces that must be in place if destiny must be fulfilled. There are those who discovered their purpose, developed their potential, and probably began to deploy their potential, yet they could not fulfil their destiny because certain things were out of place. For instance, Samson knew his calling; he knew everything about his mission, deployed his potential but he was cut short in the middle of the journey of life because he was bankrupt of the force of character. And character is one of the forces that must be in place for destiny to be fulfilled.
That is why today, we shall be looking at the force of integrity and character as far as destiny fulfilment is concerned.
The truth is that the strength of your character is what determines the strength of your destiny. You know, character is in varying degrees of strength. There are people with strong character, and there are others with weak character. Nobody with a weak character can have and sustain a strong destiny.
Now, it is crucial to note that THOUGHT is the starting point of character (Proverbs 4:23; 23:7). The person who stole money started calculating from the mind how he would steal it. He thought of it before actualizing it. The person who got involved in immorality started processing the act in his or her mind. So, thought is the starting point of every habit that eventually became character.
Whatever your thought is eventually becomes your character. So, until you watch your thoughts, you are not interested in your character. This is how it works: thought established leads to actions. When you think about something for a while, you will begin to act on it. And actions sustained forms habit. Habit perpetuated establishes character. And when character is concretised, destiny is defined.
Beloved, if you want to handle your destiny, start from Your thought. And what do you do to discipline your thought? Engage the Word of God (Joshua 1:8, Romans 12:1-2) and let the Word of God renew your mind and guide your thought pattern. Watch what you think, so you can control your character, and fulfil your destiny.
REMEMBER THIS: When character is concretised, destiny is defined.
