BASIC SCRIPTURES: ISAIAH 43: 18-19; JOSHUA 1: 5-9
Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV):
“18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Joshua 1:5-9 (KJV):
“5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

BASIC SCRIPTURES: ISAIAH 43: 18-19 November 15 2023
Title: Embracing the New and Trusting in God’s Promises
Scripture: Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV): “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Devotional: As we journey through life, we often find ourselves tethered to the past—haunted by mistakes, failures, or even past successes. Yet, Isaiah reminds us to let go of the former things and to open our hearts to the new things God is bringing forth. It’s a call to embrace change, to let go of the old patterns that may be holding us back, and to trust that God is continually at work in our lives.
God’s promise is not just about turning a new leaf but about making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. It’s about transformation and abundance in the most unexpected places. As we release the burdens of the past, we make room for the freshness of God’s grace to spring forth in our lives.
Scripture: Joshua 1:5-9 (KJV): “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage…”
Devotional: In times of transition and change, Joshua’s commissioning serves as a source of strength and courage. The Lord’s promise to be with him, to never fail nor forsake him, is a foundation on which Joshua can build his confidence. It’s a reminder that the God who led Moses and the Israelites through the wilderness is the same God leading us through our own journeys.
Strength and courage are not found in our abilities alone but in the unwavering presence of God. We are called not to be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord our God is with us wherever we go. The key to success in our endeavors lies in our commitment to God’s Word and our constant meditation on it. As we align our actions with God’s principles, we pave the way for prosperity and success.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us release the burdens of the past and embrace the new things You are bringing forth in our lives. Grant us the strength and courage to face the challenges ahead, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. May we find prosperity and success as we align our lives with Your Word. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
