Topic: Submission is acknowledging you
need God’s strength to fight your
battles.
In 1 Peter 5:8–9 and James 4:7–8, both authors highlight two key words that are at the heart of your ability to resist the devil: submission to God and faith.
Submission to God is saying, “I can’t, but You can.”In your battlefield prayer, you might say, “Lord, I can’t defeat the devil on my own. But with You, I can.”
This is the position Paul took when he wrote,
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

James taught that submission occurs when you seek to develop a closer relationship with God.
As you spend time with Him, you get to know Him better and discover how He wants you to overcome evil.
You can draw near to God by praying and
spending time in His Word, by setting aside time to listen to Him and to wait on Him for guidance, and by periodically closing off all other influences that might distract you from knowing Him better.
