Topic:Bracing for the Impact
Be prepared for negative
responses when you choose the path of obedience.
When you choose the path of obedience, you must be prepared for the negative responses you will undoubtedly receive.
You must remind yourself that God has an excellent reason for His instructions and
will help you in extraordinary ways. You must never focus on the things or the people who try to distract you from doing God’s will but rely on the Holy Spirit, who enables you to obey God’s commandments and directs you in how to walk in His ways.
As the stories of Noah, Joseph, Elijah, and others reveal, whatever God requires of you—whether it be painful or joyful, profitable or costly, reasonable or peculiar—He will give you the ability and strength to
be faithful. Even when it seems as if God is calling you to step into an impossible situation, He will always provide a way out. Often, He will use such situations to increase your trust and obedience in
Him. In this way, He shapes you into the person He wants you to be so you can achieve the things He has so wonderfully prepared for you.
God will always provide a way
out. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can walk obediently before the Lord in His strength and His power. So choose to obey Him, even if you don’t understand why He is asking you to do something. Walk boldly in faith, even if you feel you are bracing
for an impact, and trust His instructions are for your good (see Jeremiah 29:11).
That way, as you become the person He wants you to be, you will also bear the
fruit He wants you to bear. [They] laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the
common prison (Acts 5:18).
