Topic: Dedication: Seriousness with God
[Seeds of Destiny 30 March 2019 Devotional]
Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.
SCRIPTURE: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:11
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.
Dedication to God is key to standing out in life and destiny. People who are dedicated to God are distinguished by Him. Dedicated people stand out in their generation. Therefore, understanding what it takes to be dedicated is understanding what it takes to stand out in life.
Now, what is Dedication?
It is being serious with God.
Now, let me tell you what it means to be serious with God; it means:
i. Being busy for God
Seriousness with God means being busy for God; a dedicated person is someone who is busy for God.
ii. Not taking one’s relationship with God for granted
To be serious with God is to refuse to take one’s relationship with God for granted. A dedicated person does not take his relationship with God lightly.
iii. Refusal to exist as an average Christian
Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian. When you are serious with God, no one can say that you are a nominal Christian.
iv. Refusal to be an ordinary church goer or an ordinary bench warmer
To be serious with God is to refuse to be an ordinary church goer or a bench warmer but rather a dedicated and committed person to the cause of God and His Church. To be serious with God is to refuse to belong to the crowd of ordinary Christians or the crowd of ordinary parishioners. That was the kind of man Elijah was (1 Kings 17:1).
Beloved, make up your mind to be serious with God.
Remember this: Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.
