Seeds of Destiny 29 December 2019 Devotional: Activity – A Pathway To Longevity

Topic: Activity – A Pathway To Longevity

Dynamism in life is necessary for the longevity of life; idleness sponsors sickness.

SCRIPTURE: “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through” Ecclesiastics 10:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Dynamism in life is necessary for the longevity of life; idleness sponsors sickness.

Activity is the condition of being engaged in carrying out a duty. It can also be seen as the state of doing something in order to achieve a purpose or an objective. Activity connotes a state of action or engagement in carrying out a duty.

It is confirmed that there is a connection between a man’s activity and his longevity; and there is also a link between redundancy and mortality. That is why our anchor Scripture says, By much slothfulness the building decayeth… The building here represents our body. This is confirmed in 1 Corinthians 6:19a: know ye not that your body is the temple (building) of the Holy Ghost…?

By implication, when the body lacks function or activity, it is prone to affliction and decadence (degeneration). Our body was designed to be active and not to be idle. It was designed by God to be functional and not fashion-al.

The truth is, any life that is not dynamic becomes problematic. Dynamism in life is necessary for the longevity of life. A life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.

That is why when some people retire from active service and after a short period, they begin to look older than their ages and eventually die before their time.

Beloved, anything that expels you from activeness exposes you to sickness. Idleness sponsors illness, and when the body is ill, it can die.

But on this last Sunday of the year 2019, I prophesy to you that you shall not die before your time. You shall not mourn or be mourned, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Dynamism in life is necessary for the longevity of life; Idleness sponsors sickness.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

  1. Keep off from anything or anybody that wants to keep you off function.
  2. Refuse to be idle
  3. If you cannot find a job, do what you can find (as far as it is legal).

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from every spirit of laziness, weakness and lethargy. I connect to Your strength, energy and vitality to function optimally in my life’s assignment. I refuse to perish out of indolence Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
