TOPIC: THE DEPARTMENTS OF LIE
SCRIPTURE: These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Proverbs 6:16-19
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God is truthful, and He has zero allowance or tolerance for lies and falsehood.
Yesterday, we looked at FALSEHOOD – ENEMY OF DESTINY, and it was established that falsehood is an enemy of destiny.
Today, we shall explore the different departments of lie and their impact on destiny
1. Untruth, falsehood or dishonesty
This is when a person is outrightly untruthful, false or dishonest. This is the realm where people can conspire and lie against a person about something that he or she knows nothing about.
2. Denial or refusal to own up to truth or reality.
This happens when someone does something wrong and outrightly denies having a hand in it. If they did something and you asked, “Who did it?” they would deny it and say, “I don’t know.”
3. Fabrication or trumped-up story.
This is where a story is manufactured or trumped up. They are concocted stories.
Sometime ago, I read a book where a story was told of a man who was referencing how honest Abraham Lincoln was.
He was trying to tell a story that depicted the honesty of Abraham Lincoln. Later, it was discovered that the story the person told about the truthfulness of Abraham Lincoln was a lie.
Can you imagine the extent to which people can go? Using a lie to try to portray the truth. Abraham Lincoln was honest, but he didn’t need to tell a false story to depict his honesty.
4. Falsification, misinformation or disinformation
This is a place where personal information like dates of birth and others are changed. Documents and certificates that are not true are forged, and where people have more than one recorded age – one is a civil service age, and the other is the real age.
There was a young man who went to medical school with his brother’s results, probably because his brother was no more. But the fact is that, while you can attend medical school with someone else’s grades, you cannot study medicine with their brain.
5. Exaggeration
This is the stretching of the truth to make it more interesting or appealing.
Beloved, no one can do anything serious with anyone who operates in falsehood. God is truthful, and He has zero allowance or tolerance for lies and falsehood.
Remember this: God is truthful, and He has zero allowance or tolerance for lies and falsehood.

1. Go through today’s study again
2. God hate lies; avoid every form of lie today
3. Ask God for forgiveness for previous acts of dishonesty and falsehood.
PRAYER: Father, help me to stay away from the ways of the world. Please, lead me away from things that keep me from You, and separate me from the things that hinder me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
