TOPIC: AWARENESS – A PATHWAY TO REIGNING IN LIFE.
SCRIPTURE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:… PROVERBS 23:7.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your behaviour is regulated by your level of awareness.
Life’ experiences reveal that the way people behave and the results they see in life are products of their level of awareness. Awareness affects behaviours and actions, and actions affect results.
When you see some villagers’ behaviour in the city, it is not their fault; their behaviour corresponds with their level of awareness.
I once heard a funny story of how someone took a herbalist (witchdoctor) to Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. When the herbalist approached the entrance door of the hotel, the door opened on its own accord. The herbalist, on seeing this, went backward and muttered, “Somebody is testing my power here.” He went closer to the door again, and the door opened on its own accord again. He stepped backward. This continued until he told the man who brought him, “Let me go back home and charge my power before returning.” What a funny story!
Now, why did the herbalist (witchdoctor) behave that way? He came from some undeveloped place without modern amenities, and so he did not know that the door was an automatic sliding door. His level of awareness was limited.
Beloved, if you know who you are, there are some behaviours you cannot exhibit. If you are aware that you are a king, you will behave like one. Your level of behaviour is regulated by your awareness. People operate differently because of their varying degrees of awareness. Some people have turned themselves into beggars and generational liabilities because of their limited awareness.
There are people who keep some clothes for some special occasions because they think that unless that occasion arises, they are not supposed to wear those clothes. On the contrary, some time ago, someone gave me a beautiful pair of shoes, and I wore them the same day. There is no time to keep them. It is a mindset; it is an awareness.
There are people who bring out the best dishes only to serve meals to their visitors, but when they want to serve themselves, they would bring out old or regular dishes. That shows the way they rate themselves.
Beloved, there are some things around you that don’t portray royalty; do not tolerate them. Eliminate them from your life. There is a car that is worse than trekking. That car that has almost turned the owner into a mechanic; he would drive the car today, and the car would drive him tomorrow. If you have that type of car, you can sell it off as scrap and take taxis with dignity in the meantime while trusting God to buy a better one. That mindset and action will attract a new and better car.
Humility does not mean tolerance of adversity and mediocrity. Humility does not mean stupidity. There are some gifts you reject because you respect yourself.
Beloved, if you want to experience change in the quality of life you are living, upgrade your awareness; renew your mentality.
Remember this: Your behaviour is regulated by your level of awareness
ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Renew your mind daily with the word of God. Believe only what God says about you.
2. Check and ensure your wardrobes are presentable and fit for royalty.
3. Hang around people with the right mindset.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to upgrade my level of awareness. I refuse to accept the low level of life. I am who God says I am, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
