BASIC SCRIPTURE: LEVITICUS 23:14-22
Leviticus 23:14-22: “You must not eat any bread, or roasted or new grain, until the very day you bring this offering to your God. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.
“From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the Lord. Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the Lord, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. The priest is to wave the two lambs before the Lord as a wave offering, together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the Lord for the priest. On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.”

Lord, help us understand the essence of giving, not only materially but also with our hearts and lives. May we offer our best to You, withholding nothing, in a spirit of thankfulness and obedience.
On this day, we ask for Your blessings over our lives, our families, our communities, and our world. We pray for wisdom and discernment to make choices that align with Your will. Grant us the strength to be a light in the world, spreading love, kindness, and compassion to those around us.
As we reflect on the significance of this passage in Leviticus, help us to understand the importance of dedication and celebration in our lives. Guide us in presenting our firstfruits to You, not only in material offerings but in dedicating our time, talents, and resources to glorify Your name.
We pray for Your peace to reign in our hearts and in the world, especially in places experiencing turmoil or hardship. Let Your love and grace fill our lives, shaping us to be more like Christ each day.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
