BIBLE PASSAGE: Revelation 19:7-9 KJV (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 14 July 2019)
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
MEMORY VERSE: “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” – 2 Corinthian 11:2 (scroll down for RCCG Sunday School 14 July 2019 HYMN)
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Just as marriage is the union between the bride and the bridegroom, so is the Union between the church and Christ (Eph. 5:32). A wise bride will prepare herself for the coming of her husband (Matt. 25:1-10). In like manner, Christ expects the Church to be prepared for His coming (Rev. 21:2). The bride is the body if believers known as the Church that trusts in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and have hope of eternal life.
Jesus Christ is the bridegroom who had sacrificially and lovingly chosen the church to be His bride (Eph. 5:25). The bride of Christ must therefore understand the reason for, and the rudiments of her preparation.
TEXT REVIEW: REVELATION 19:7-9 – “ALLELUIA”
i. The word “alleluia” is a combination of two (2) Hebrew words which are “Halal” which means “praise” and “Jah” which means “Yahweh” or “Lord”. The full meaning is therefore, ” Praise the Lord” i.e. “praise our God” Rev. 19:5.
ii. “Alleluia” occurred four (4) times in Rev. 19:1-6 for the following reasons:
a. The first reason is because God’s judgement is true and righteous. V.1.
b. The second reason is because God has judged (pronounced sentence and convicted) the great and notorious harlot who corrupted and demoralized the earth with her lewdness and adultery and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand. V.2.
c. The third reason is because the Lord God omnipotent (the all Ruler, all powerful) reigns and sits in the throne. V.6,4.
d. The fourth reason is because the marriage of the lamb, at last has come and His bride, the church has prepared herself. Rev. 19:7.
Perhaps, you need to know that the reason that the world has been filled with corruption and fornication is to pollute, poison and demoralize the bride to make the marriage of the lamb to the church, impossible because God is holy and will joy be joined with the unholy things. Rev. 19:2; Hosea 4:17-19.
But praise be our God who has judged the great whore and has liberated the church from its grip through Christ and Hus righteousness. Rev. 19:8-9.

- O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
To rejoice at Thy birth. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day, Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?
