LESSON AIM: Gentleness and self-control are fruits of the Spirit.
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:23 Meekness, Temperance: against such there is no law
.
INTRODUCTION: Gentleness and self-control is closely related and are both Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5, Moses the mediator of the Old Covenant was a meek man Numbers 12:3 and our New Covenant mediator Jesus Christ called Himself gentle and lowly in heart Mathew 11:29. Seeing these Biblical examples we can say that gentleness and self control equipped them for their respective roles as we will see further in the life of Joseph in our lesson today.
Be gentle and have self- control!

CONCLUSION: God gave Joseph favor in the sight of the prison keeper, and he was given charge over the prison, even there, God prospered him for doing the right thing.
CHALLENGE: Joseph’s gentleness made him of good behavior to earn his father’s love even though his brothers hated him and his self- control enabled him to resist the temptation of Potiphar’s wife.
God rewarded him greatly by being with him in Potiphar’s house and in the prison. He was favored and prospered. God wants you also to be gently and have self-control.
