TOPIC: GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT DELIGHTS IN A GRATEFUL HEART
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Corinthians 9:10-15
[10]Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
[11]Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
[12]For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
[13]Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
[14]And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
[15]Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 149:3-4 “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.”
CENTRAL TRUTH: Holy Spirit is the third person in Trinity
INTRODUCTION: We continue our discussion on the fact that the Trinity (God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) delights in a grateful heart. To delight in someone or something simply means to be very happy with them. In particular, we want to consider today the truth that God the Holy Spirit delights continually in a grateful heart and what the benefits are for us. A thankful heart creates a good atmosphere for the move of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will move and work better in an atmosphere of thanksgiving. To remain grateful, we need the Holy Spirit.
