## PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON DAY 25 – FREEDOM FROM FEARS AND WORRIES

### The Significance of Day 25

As we approach the final days of this 21-day fasting journey (or 28-day, depending on the calendar), Day 25 addresses one of the most pervasive enemies of the human soul: **fear and worry**. This is not a peripheral issue; it is central to the Christian experience. Fear paralyzes faith. Worry steals peace. Anxiety undermines trust.

The enemy knows that if he can keep you in fear, he can keep you from your destiny. Fearful people don’t take risks. Fearful people don’t step out in faith. Fearful people don’t possess their promises. Today’s prayer focus is therefore essential for anyone who wants to walk in the fullness of what God has prepared.

### The Foundation: 2 Timothy 1:7

Paul’s words to Timothy are a powerful declaration of what the Spirit produces in the believer:

**”The Spirit God gave us does not make us timid.”** – Timidity, fear, cowardice—these do not come from God. They may come from trauma, from the enemy, from the flesh, but not from the Holy Spirit. If you are controlled by fear, you are being controlled by something other than the Spirit of God.

**”But gives us power”** – Dunamis power. Explosive, miracle-working, chain-breaking power. The same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. Power displaces fear because fear is weakness, but you have strength.

**”Love”** – Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). When you are consumed with love for God and others, there is no room for self-protective fear. Love risks. Love trusts. Love overcomes.

**”Self-discipline”** – Sound mind. Self-control. The ability to govern your thoughts and emotions. Fear often comes from uncontrolled imaginations—imagining worst-case scenarios, dwelling on negative possibilities. Self-discipline brings every thought into captivity to Christ.

### The Nature of Fear

Fear is not merely an emotion; it is a spiritual force. It operates through:

**The Mind** – Imagining disaster, rehearsing worst-case scenarios, dwelling on negative news
**The Emotions** – Anxiety, dread, panic, terror
**The Body** – Racing heart, shallow breathing, tension, sleeplessness
**The Will** – Paralysis, inability to act, avoidance of risk

Fear is the opposite of faith. Faith says, “God is able.” Fear says, “God might not come through.” Faith says, “I can do all things through Christ.” Fear says, “I can’t, and I won’t.”

### The Antidote to Fear

The prayer points for today provide a comprehensive strategy for overcoming fear:

**1. Strength in Storms (Point 1)**

Isaiah 41:10 is a foundational promise: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

The storm does not mean God is absent. The storm is precisely where God reveals His presence. Pray for strength to remain standing when everything around you is shaking.

**2. Trust in Fearful Situations (Point 2)**

Psalm 56:3 is a simple but profound declaration: “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.”

Notice the honesty: “Whenever I am afraid.” David did not pretend fear never touched him. He acknowledged the fear and then made a choice to trust. Fear is not sin; staying in fear is. The moment fear rises, turn it into an opportunity for trust.

**3. Decree of Courage (Point 3)**

Joshua 1:9 is a command: “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the determination to move forward despite fear. Declare that you ARE strong and courageous. Your words shape your reality.

**4. Perfect Peace in Storms (Point 4)**

Philippians 4:6-7 promises that when we pray with thanksgiving, the peace of God—which surpasses all understanding—will guard our hearts and minds.

This peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of God in the midst of conflict. It is a peace that does not make sense to the world because it is supernatural.

**5. Divine Guidance (Point 5)**

Isaiah 41:13 assures us: “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.'”

When you cannot see the way, God holds your hand and leads you. You do not need to know the entire path; you only need to know the One who holds your hand.

**6. Protection from Manipulation (Point 6)**

Psalm 118:6 declares: “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

People may plot. People may scheme. People may try to manipulate your destiny. But when God is for you, who can be against you? Human agendas cannot override divine purposes.

**7. Love That Dispels Fear (Point 7)**

1 John 4:18 is one of the most powerful verses on fear: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.”

When you are fully convinced of God’s love for you, fear loses its grip. You stop fearing rejection because you know you are accepted. You stop fearing failure because you know you are loved regardless of performance. Let God’s love radiate through your home and environment, dispelling every shadow of fear.

**8. Comfort in Negative News (Point 8)**

Psalm 23:4 promises: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.”

The news may be bad. The reports may be negative. But God’s word provides comfort that transcends headlines. Receive that comfort today.

**9. Thanksgiving for Kindness (Point 9)**

1 Peter 5:7 instructs: “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Thanksgiving is an act of casting. When you thank God for His kindness, you are acknowledging that He has been good to you and will continue to be good. Gratitude displaces worry.

**10. Trusting God’s Word Over Human Wisdom (Point 10)**

Proverbs 29:25 warns: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”

Human wisdom is limited. Human advice is fallible. But God’s word is eternal and trustworthy. Choose to trust His word over the opinions of men.

**11. Fear Has No Hold (Point 11)**

Psalm 27:1 declares: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Declare that fear has no hold on you. It may knock at the door, but you do not have to invite it in.

**12. Thanksgiving for Victory (Point 12)**

Psalm 34:4 testifies: “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Thank God that He has already defeated fear in your life. It is not a future victory; it is a present reality.

**13. Heart Established (Point 13)**

Deuteronomy 31:6-8 promises: “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Your heart will not fail because God is always with you. He goes before you. He stays beside you. He comes behind you.

**14. Escape from Trouble (Point 14)**

John 14:1 commands: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”

Belief is the antidote to trouble. When you believe, your heart settles. When you trust, your spirit rests.

**15. No Fear of Evil (Point 15)**

Romans 8:15 assures: “You did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.'”

You are not a slave to fear; you are a child of God. Children do not live in terror of their Father. They live in the security of His love.

## PART FOUR: PRAYER FOR FREEDOM FROM FEAR

Father, I come before You on this Day 25 of our fasting, asking for freedom from every fear and worry that has plagued my life.

I receive the truth of 2 Timothy 1:7: the Spirit You gave me does not make me timid, but gives me power, love, and self-discipline. I reject the spirit of fear. I renounce every agreement I have made with anxiety. I break every covenant with worry.

Lord, help me to remain strong in the face of life’s storms. When fear rises, let trust rise higher. I declare that I am strong and courageous because You are with me.

Keep me and my house in perfect peace, even in the midst of chaos. Hold my hand and lead me in the way I should go. Put an end to every agenda of man that seeks to manipulate Your purpose for my life.

Let the power of Your love radiate through my home and dispel every appearance of fear. I receive comfort from Your word in the face of all negative news. I thank You for Your kind gestures toward me and my house.

I choose to trust Your word more than the wisdom of men. I declare that fear and worry shall never have a hold on me because You are my strength. I thank You because You have defeated fear and worries in my life.

My heart will not fail because You are always with me. I believe that Your saving grace is poured out on me, and I have escaped every form of trouble. I rejoice because as a child of God, I will not be afraid of any evil.

In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

## PART FIVE: CLOSING THOUGHTS

As we continue through these final days of fasting, let us hold fast to the truth that fear is not from God. It does not have to rule your life. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, and that Spirit produces power, love, and a sound mind.

Whatever news you are facing, whatever storm is raging, whatever enemy is threatening—God is with you. He will not leave you. He will not forsake you. He holds your hand. He goes before you. He is your light and your salvation. Whom shall you fear?

**Be strong. Be courageous. Fear not.**
