## PART ONE: OFFICIAL RCCG PRAYER POINTS – DAY 23

**Day 23 – Feb 23rd 2026**

**Prayer Focus – Bearing The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit**

**Galatians 5:22-25**
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

**Prayer Points:**

1. Father, thank You for the grace of approaching Thy Throne to obtain mercy and purging from all forms of iniquity in Jesus name. Hebrews 4:16

2. Father, I thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

3. Father, I thank You for making me Your son through redemption.

4. Father, let your love in me increase daily as the love for the world diminishes in Jesus’ name. 1 John 2:15-17

5. Father, let your joy flow from me to anyone I come in contact with in Jesus name.

6. Father, let Your peace permeate all areas of my life abundantly in Jesus name.

7. Father, grant me grace to patiently walk for you in all areas of my life in Jesus name.

8. Father, grant me grace to be wise as a serpent and be gentle as a dove in Jesus’ name. Matthew 10:16

9. Holy Spirit, purge my heart of any ungodly thought in Jesus name. 2 Corinthians 10:5

10. Father, let everyone that encounters me experience your goodness in Jesus name.

11. Father, let my faith in you grow stronger daily in Jesus name.

12. Father, put upon us the garment of humility in Jesus name.

13. Father, help us to overcome the spirit of anger in Jesus name.

14. Father, help us all to be good ambassadors of your kingdom in Jesus name.

15. Father, give us the grace to wait on you till we look like you in all areas in Jesus name.

## PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON DAY 23 – BEARING THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

### The Shift from Outer to Inner

Day 23 of the RCCG fasting and prayers marks a significant shift in focus. Previous days have addressed external concerns—opportunities, the Redemption City, children, family. Today, the prayer focus turns inward to the most critical arena of all: the human heart. We are praying about BEARING THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

This is significant because external breakthroughs without internal transformation are temporary at best and dangerous at worst. God is not just interested in what you HAVE; He is interested in who you ARE. The fruit of the Spirit is the evidence that the life of God is truly at work within you.

### The Foundation: Galatians 5:22-25

Apostle Paul presents a contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. The works of the flesh are many and varied—sexual immorality, idolatry, hatred, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, and the like. But the fruit of the Spirit is singular—it is one fruit with nine flavors:

**Love** – Agape, the selfless, sacrificial love of God
**Joy** – Not happiness dependent on circumstances, but deep-seated gladness rooted in God
**Peace** – Shalom, wholeness, completeness, tranquility even in chaos
**Patience** – Longsuffering, the ability to endure difficulty without complaint
**Kindness** – Benevolence in action, sweetness of disposition
**Goodness** – Moral excellence, integrity, generosity
**Faithfulness** – Reliability, loyalty, steadfastness
**Gentleness** – Meekness, strength under control
**Self-control** – Mastery over one’s own desires and impulses

Paul then makes two crucial statements:

**”Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”** – The crucifixion of the flesh is not optional; it is definitive. When you came to Christ, the flesh was condemned to death. The question is whether you keep it on the cross or allow it to be resurrected.

**”If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”** – There is a difference between having life and walking in that life. Every believer lives by the Spirit (positionally), but not every believer walks by the Spirit (practically). Fruit-bearing requires walking.

### The Ninefold Fruit

**1. Love (Prayer Point 4)**

The prayer asks that God’s love in us would increase daily as love for the world diminishes. 1 John 2:15-17 warns: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” Love for God and love for the world are mutually exclusive. One increases as the other decreases.

**Application:** Examine your heart daily. What do you love most? Where does your affection flow? Pray that the love of God would crowd out every competing love.

**2. Joy (Prayer Point 5)**

Joy is not meant to be hoarded but shared. The prayer asks that joy would flow from us to everyone we encounter. This is contagious Christianity. When you carry the joy of the Lord, you become a dispenser of gladness to a depressed world.

**Application:** Ask God to make you a carrier of His joy. Let your countenance, your words, and your presence bring joy to others.

**3. Peace (Prayer Point 6)**

Peace is to permeate ALL areas of life abundantly. Not just the spiritual areas, but the physical, emotional, financial, relational, and professional areas. Peace should saturate every dimension of your existence.

**Application:** Identify the areas of your life that are currently lacking peace. Bring them before the Lord and ask His peace to permeate them.

**4. Patience (Prayer Point 7)**

Patience is the grace to walk with God in ALL areas of life. Not just in the areas where patience comes easily, but in the difficult areas—the waiting rooms, the delays, the provocations.

**Application:** Ask for grace to be patient with God’s timing, patient with people’s failings, and patient with your own progress.

**5. Kindness and Gentleness (Prayer Point 8)**

Jesus instructed His disciples to be “wise as serpents and gentle as doves.” This combination is rare but essential. Wisdom without gentleness becomes manipulation. Gentleness without wisdom becomes naivety.

**Application:** Pray for the balance of serpentine wisdom and dove-like gentleness. Let your interactions be marked by both.

**6. Goodness (Prayer Point 10)**

Goodness is the quality of being morally excellent and generous. The prayer asks that everyone who encounters us would experience God’s goodness through us. This means our presence should leave people better, not worse.

**Application:** Ask God to use you as a channel of His goodness. Let your words, your actions, and your resources bless others.

**7. Faithfulness (Prayer Point 11)**

Faithfulness is the quality of being reliable, trustworthy, and steadfast. It is not about dramatic acts but consistent devotion. The prayer asks for daily growth in faith—not just in quantity but in quality.

**Application:** Ask God to make you faithful in small things so that you can be entrusted with greater things.

**8. Gentleness (Prayer Point 12)**

Gentleness is closely related to humility. It is strength under control. The prayer asks for “the garment of humility”—a covering of meekness that protects both the wearer and those around them.

**Application:** Put on humility daily. Recognize that without God, you can do nothing. Let this awareness shape your interactions.

**9. Self-Control (Prayer Point 13)**

The spirit of anger is specifically mentioned as something to overcome. Anger is often the failure of self-control. When the flesh rises up, the Spirit provides the ability to restrain.

**Application:** When anger rises, pause. Breathe. Pray. Ask the Holy Spirit for self-control before you speak or act.

### The Purpose: Ambassadors of the Kingdom (Prayer Point 14)

The ultimate purpose of bearing the fruit of the Spirit is not personal holiness alone, but representation. We are ambassadors of God’s kingdom. Ambassadors represent their home country in a foreign land. They are expected to embody the values, character, and culture of the nation they represent.

As citizens of heaven living on earth, we are to be good ambassadors. When people encounter us, they should get an accurate impression of what God is like. Our love should reflect His love. Our joy should reflect His joy. Our peace should reflect His peace.

### The Goal: To Look Like Him (Prayer Point 15)

The final prayer point is profound: “Father, give us the grace to wait on you till we look like you in all areas.”

This echoes 2 Corinthians 3:18: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The goal of the Christian life is not just to receive from God but to resemble God. We are being conformed to the image of Christ. This transformation happens as we wait on Him, as we behold Him, as we abide in Him. It is the work of the Spirit, but it requires our cooperation.

## PART FOUR: PRAYERS FOR CULTIVATING THE FRUIT

### Prayer for Love

Father, I ask that Your love would increase in me daily. Let Your agape love flow through me to my family, my friends, my colleagues, and even my enemies. Remove every trace of selfishness, and let Your selfless love dominate my heart. Let the love of the world diminish as Your love grows.

### Prayer for Joy

Father, fill me with the joy of Your salvation. Let joy bubble up from within me like a spring of living water. Make me a carrier of joy so that everyone I encounter is blessed by my presence. Let joy be my strength and my testimony.

### Prayer for Peace

Father, let Your peace permeate every area of my life—my mind, my emotions, my body, my finances, my relationships, my future. Where there is anxiety, bring calm. Where there is fear, bring faith. Where there is turmoil, bring tranquility.

### Prayer for Patience

Father, grant me grace to wait on You without complaining. Give me patience with people who test me, with situations that try me, and with processes that take time. Let patience have its perfect work in me.

### Prayer for Kindness and Gentleness

Father, make me kind. Let my words be gentle, my actions be gracious, and my presence be soothing. Give me wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent, when to act and when to wait. Let me be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove.

### Prayer for Goodness

Father, let everyone who encounters me experience Your goodness. Use me as a channel of blessing. Let my life leave people better than I found them. Let generosity mark my giving and integrity mark my living.

### Prayer for Faithfulness

Father, let my faith grow stronger daily. Make me faithful in small things so that I can be entrusted with greater things. Let me be reliable, trustworthy, and steadfast in my walk with You.

### Prayer for Humility

Father, clothe me with the garment of humility. Remove every trace of pride, arrogance, and self-importance. Let me walk in genuine meekness, recognizing that without You I can do nothing.

### Prayer for Self-Control

Father, help me to overcome the spirit of anger. Give me self-control over my tongue, my thoughts, and my actions. Let the fruit of self-control be evident in every situation that tests me.

### Prayer for Transformation

Father, give me grace to wait on You until I look like You in every area. Transform me from glory to glory by Your Spirit. Let my character reflect Your character. Let my life display Your life.

## PART FIVE: CLOSING PRAYER

Father, we thank You for Day 23 of this fasting and prayers. We thank You for turning our attention to the most important work—the work You are doing in us.

We acknowledge that external breakthroughs without internal transformation are incomplete. So today, we invite You to do a deep work in our hearts. Produce in us the fruit of Your Spirit.

Let love increase. Let joy flow. Let peace permeate. Let patience abound. Let kindness mark us. Let goodness flow through us. Let faithfulness be our foundation. Let gentleness be our garment. Let self-control be our strength.

Make us good ambassadors of Your kingdom. Let our lives accurately represent You to a watching world.

And give us grace to wait on You until we look like You in every area.

In Jesus’ mighty name.

**AMEN.**
