### PART ONE: OFFICIAL RCCG PRAYER POINTS – DAY 19

**Prayer Focus – Family**

**Genesis 1:26-28**
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

**Genesis 2:18-25**
Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.” Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

### PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON DAY 19 – FAMILY

**The Foundation of Family**

Day 19 of the RCCG fasting and prayers turns our attention to the most fundamental unit of human society—the family. The scriptures chosen for this day take us back to the beginning, to the very origins of God’s design for human relationships.

Genesis 1:26-28 establishes several profound truths:

First, humanity was created in the image and likeness of God. This means that every family member carries divine dignity and eternal significance. There are no “accidents” in God’s design. Every person is an image-bearer.

Second, the blessing of God upon the first family included fruitfulness, multiplication, and dominion. The family was designed to be fruitful—not just biologically but in every dimension of influence. Families are meant to fill the earth with God’s glory and subdue it for His purposes.

Third, the creation of male and female together reflects the relational nature of God. The Trinity exists in eternal relationship, and human families are designed to reflect that relational beauty.

Genesis 2:18-25 adds further depth. God declared, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” This is the first thing in creation that God called “not good.” Isolation was never part of God’s original design. The family—beginning with marriage—was His remedy for loneliness.

The creation of Eve from Adam’s side establishes equality, intimacy, and unity. Adam’s declaration—”bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”—speaks of profound identification. The leaving, cleaving, and becoming one flesh describe the covenant nature of family.

**The Battle for the Family**

Why does Day 19 include so many prayers against negative forces? Because the enemy understands something many believers miss: if he can destroy the family, he can destroy society. The family is the primary place where faith is transmitted, character is formed, and identity is established.

The prayer points address multiple dimensions of attack:

**Disunity and misunderstanding** (Point 3) – The enemy sows division between family members. Husbands against wives. Parents against children. Siblings against siblings. But the yoke of disunity must be broken.

**Afflictions** (Point 5) – Chains of affliction that have bound families for generations must be broken by fire.

**Satanic altars** (Point 6) – Many families have histories of involvement with idolatry, occultism, or false worship. These altars must be dismantled by the power of Christ’s resurrection.

**Bitterness** (Point 7) – Like Naomi who said, “Call me Mara (bitter),” families can be poisoned by unresolved pain and disappointment.

**Hardship** (Point 8) – Spirits of poverty, struggle, and lack that have plagued families must be destroyed at the foundation.

**Emptying battles** (Point 9) – Battles that drain families of joy, resources, and hope must receive the judgment of death.

**Covenants with other gods** (Point 10) – Generational covenants made with dark powers must be broken by the blood of Jesus.

**Generational curses** (Points 13 and 15) – The repeated patterns of failure, sickness, poverty, and dysfunction that run through bloodlines must be cancelled.

**The Blessings for the Family**

The prayers also claim positive promises:

**Unity** (Point 2) – The spirit of unity, where family members dwell together in harmony (Psalm 133).

**Divine presence** (Point 4) – Like Moses who said, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here,” families need God’s abiding presence.

**Good things** (Point 11) – Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights. Families are not designed for lack but for provision.

**Troubled troublemakers** (Point 12) – Those who rise against families will be dealt with by God Himself.

**Divine health** (Point 14) – Sickness is not God’s will for families. Healing and wholeness are His provision.

**Thanksgiving** (Point 1) – The prayer begins with gratitude, recognizing that families have already received countless benefits from the Lord.

**The Generational Dimension**

The repetition of prayers concerning generational curses and covenants (Points 6, 10, 13, 15) highlights a crucial understanding: families are not isolated in time. We are connected to our ancestors, for good or for ill. The sins of the fathers can affect children to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5). But the blessings of God can extend to thousands of generations of those who love Him (Exodus 20:6).

Today’s prayer points address both dimensions: breaking the negative inheritance and establishing the positive blessing.

**Practical Application**

As you pray through these points today:

1. **Be specific** – Mention family members by name. Identify specific challenges each one faces.

2. **Be thorough** – Pray through both paternal and maternal lineages. The enemy attacks from both sides.

3. **Be persistent** – Generational issues may require sustained prayer. Do not give up if breakthrough does not come immediately.

4. **Be expectant** – The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any covenant made with other gods. The resurrection power is greater than any generational curse.

5. **Be thankful** – Count the benefits. Acknowledge God’s faithfulness to your family, even in the midst of challenges.

**Closing Prayer**

Father, we thank You for the gift of family. Thank You for designing us for relationship and for placing us in families. Today, we bring every family represented in this fast before Your throne.

Let unity reign. Let every yoke of disunity be broken. Let Your divine presence never depart. Break every chain of affliction. Dismantle every satanic altar from past generations. Remove bitterness. Destroy hardship. Cancel every battle that seeks to empty us. Break every covenant with other gods. Trouble every troublemaker. Cancel every generational curse. Bless us with divine health. And let us never lack the good things of life.

We receive these blessings by faith, in the mighty name of Jesus.

**AMEN.**
