MEMORISE: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
READ: Revelation 3:19-22
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Number 33-36
MESSAGE:
Today’s topic is a call to repentance. Some people have shut the door of their hearts to God because of the fear of human condemnation, but until you open the door, He will not stop knocking. God is waiting for you to open the door of your heart.
According to our Bible text, for God Himself to seek a man, it not only shows how important the fellow is; it means the fellow has found grace and mercy from Him. God is a God of order who will not force Himself on anyone or come in uninvited. Hence, He will constantly knock until you open up your heart to Him. Please hear His voice today and surrender because it will be the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Him. He will point out your errors without condemning you. He will also help you to make amends where necessary, then as you constantly fellowship with Him, He will guide you step by step on how to fulfil His purpose for your life.
KEY POINT:
Let God in today.
HYMN 18 – When We Walk With The Lord
- When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
- Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey. - Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey - But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey. - Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
