READ: Revelation 2:18-19
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
MESSAGE
Just the way you can decipher the different moods of your earthly father, you can know the different moods of your Heavenly Father. God, like us, is an emotional Being. He can be happy, sad or sorrowful. His emotions reflect through His voice which can be pleasant, reassuring or harsh. For instance, when He is happy, His eyes are full of love and can be compared to shimmering pools of water, but when He is angry, His eyes are like a flaming fire.
However, despite His angry mood, He still corrects in love. For instance, in Revelation 2:18-29, the Lord correctly assessed the state of the church in Thyatira and commended them for several things they did well. This is how a Christian should approach anyone he/she wants to correct. Before you correct someone, commend him/her for the good they have done, then point out the areas where they need to be better. This attribute of God also intimates us that He is always in control of His emotions; therefore, you are to always be in control of your emotions.

HYMN 21 – I Want To Be Like Jesus
- I want to be like Jesus,
So lowly and so meek;
For no one mark’d an angry word,
That ever heard Him speak, - I want to be like Jesus,
So frequently in prayer;
Alone upon the mountain top,
He met his Father there. - I want to be like Jesus,
I never, never find
That He, though persecuted was
To anyone unkind. - I want to be like Jesus,
Engaged in doing good;
So that of me it may be said
“He hath done what he could.” - I want to be like Jesus,
Who sweetly said to all,
“Let little children come to Me;”
I would obey the call. - But oh I’m not like Jesus,
As anyone may see;
O gentle Saviour, send Thy grace,
And make me like to Thee
