The Significance of Mercy Wednesday

Beloved NSPPDian, welcome to Day 18 of our 28 Days of Wonders. We are now in the third week of this journey—the week of Rain of Evidence, the week of Operation Stop the Stoppers. But within this week, there is a special covenant day: WEDNESDAY.

Wednesdays on the NSPPD Altar of Fire are set apart as Mercy Wednesdays. This is a divine appointment—a day when the cry for mercy takes precedence, a day when judgment is swallowed up by mercy, a day when El-Roi, the God who sees, responds to the emergency cases of His children.

Pastor Jerry Eze has consistently emphasized that Wednesdays carry a unique prophetic weight. They are days when we present ourselves before the Lord, the Lord God—merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. They are days when we declare: WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE FAILS, MERCY NEVER EVER FAILS!

Understanding Mercy in This Season

In the context of the 28 Days of Wonders, mercy is not just a concept—it is an activation. It is the divine intervention that:

Reverses what was irreversible – When the report says impossible, mercy says possible. When the doctor says terminal, mercy says healed. When the economist says hopeless, mercy says provision.

Restores what was lost – Mercy specializes in recovery. It finds what was stolen and brings it back. It locates what was missing and returns it. It retrieves what was wasted and restores it.

Rewrites what was written – There are decrees spoken against you. There are judgments passed in the courts of darkness. There are verdicts issued by the enemy. But mercy overturns every negative judgment and rewrites your story with testimonies.

The Names of God in This Season

The prayer focus for this Mercy Wednesday highlights the name EL-ROI—the God who sees me. This name, first used by Hagar in Genesis 16:13, carries profound significance for this season:

El-Roi sees you in your wilderness – Like Hagar, you may be in a desolate place, abandoned by human help. But El-Roi sees you. Your situation is not hidden from His eyes.

El-Roi sees what others cannot see – Men see your present struggle; El-Roi sees your future triumph. Men see your tears; El-Roi sees your testimony. Men see your pain; El-Roi sees your purpose.

El-Roi responds to what He sees – Seeing is not passive observation. When El-Roi sees, He acts. He sends help. He opens doors. He provides water in the wilderness.

The Cry for Mercy

The corporate declaration for this day is: OH LORD, ABBA, MY EL-ROI PLEASE SHOW ME MERCY!

This is not a casual prayer. It is an emergency cry. It is the cry of:
The woman whose womb has been closed for years
The man whose business is collapsing
The parent whose child is prodigal
The patient whose report is terminal
The single whose hope is fading
The family whose marriage is failing

It is the cry that reaches the throne and brings heaven running.

The Reversal Note

One of the prophetic instructions for this day is to Make A Reversal Note – everything you desire EL-ROI to reverse.

What needs reversal in your life?
Reversal of negative medical reports
Reversal of financial setbacks
Reversal of family curses
Reversal of career stagnation
Reversal of marital delay
Reversal of every evil pattern

Write them down. Be specific. Name dates, amounts, diagnoses, situations. Your Reversal Note is your prayer document. It is your evidence file. It is your testimony waiting to happen.

The Congratulations Note

Another instruction is to Come with your Congratulations Note. This is a note you write to yourself—or to God—celebrating the answers before you see them. It is an act of faith that says: I am congratulating myself because I know my testimony is coming.

Write your Congratulations Note as if the miracle has already happened:
Congratulations on your new job!
Congratulations on your healed body!
Congratulations on your miracle baby!
Congratulations on your debt cancellation!

This is not presumption. It is prophetic alignment. It is agreeing with what God has already declared over your life.

The 28 Days of Wonders Context

According to the structure of the 28 Days of Wonders, February 2026 is divided into specific phases:

Days 1–7: Declare the Battles Over — Focus on terminating every ongoing fight
Days 8–14: Wonder Expectations & Downloads — Compile your 28 prayer points (your wonder list)
Days 15–21: Invitations & Expansion — Invite others to experience God’s wonders
Days 22–28: Harvest & Testimonies — Celebrate daily victories

We are now in Days 15–21, the season of Invitations and Expansion. This is why the prophetic instruction for Day 18 includes: Invite at least 3 new persons to join you LIVE. Your blessing is connected to someone else’s breakthrough. As you bring others to the Altar of Fire, their chains break, and your own testimony accelerates.

Prayer 1: The Cry for Mercy

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You on this Mercy Wednesday. I present myself before El-Roi, the God who sees me. You see my situation. You see my struggle. You see my tears. You see my emergency.

OH LORD, ABBA, MY EL-ROI, PLEASE SHOW ME MERCY!

Let mercy speak for me where I have no voice.
Let mercy fight for me where I have no strength.
Let mercy open doors for me where I have no key.
Let mercy reverse what the enemy has reversed against me.

I am crying out for mercy because when everything else fails, MERCY NEVER EVER FAILS!

Prayer 2: Mercy for Rising

Father, I cry out for the mercy that brings rising. Every area of my life that has been low—finances, health, career, destiny—I ask for the mercy that lifts. Let me rise from the pit to the palace. Let me rise from shame to glory. Let me rise from obscurity to visibility.

By Your mercy, I am rising! I will not remain at this level. My rising is activated today!

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 3: Mercy Over Families

Father, I cry out for mercy over my family. Cover my parents, my spouse, my children, my siblings with Your mercy. Let mercy preserve them from harm. Let mercy protect them from evil. Let mercy provide for every need.

For every family member who is far from You, show them the mercy of salvation. For every marriage under attack, show the mercy of restoration. For every child facing challenges, show the mercy of divine intervention.

My family is covered by mercy! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 4: Mercy for a Bouncing Back

Father, I cry out for the mercy that causes a bouncing back. Every area where I have experienced loss, failure, or setback—I declare a bouncing back by mercy!

Finances, bounce back!
Health, bounce back!
Career, bounce back!
Relationships, bounce back!
Destiny, bounce back!

The enemy thought I was down for good, but by mercy, I am bouncing back stronger than before!

Prayer 5: Mercy to Dry Bitter Tears

Father, You are the God who collects tears in a bottle. Tonight, I present my tears before You. Every tear I have cried in secret—dry them by mercy. Every grief I have carried alone—heal it by mercy. Every pain no one knows about—remove it by mercy.

Let the oil of joy replace my mourning. Let the garment of praise replace my heaviness. Let laughter fill my mouth and thanksgiving fill my heart.

By mercy, my tears are dried! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 6: Mercy for Manifestation

Father, I have believed Your promises. I have held onto Your Word. I have waited for my season. Now, by mercy, let manifestation come!

Let every promise manifest physically.
Let every prophecy manifest visibly.
Let every prayer manifest tangibly.

I am not just believing—I am seeing! I am not just hoping—I am holding! Manifestation is my portion by mercy!

Prayer 7: Mercy for Divine Reversal

Father, as I write my Reversal Note, I present every item before You:

Every evil report—REVERSE IT BY MERCY!
Every negative diagnosis—REVERSE IT BY MERCY!
Every financial loss—REVERSE IT BY MERCY!
Every broken relationship—REVERSE IT BY MERCY!
Every delayed destiny—REVERSE IT BY MERCY!

I declare that what the enemy meant for evil, You turn for my good. I am experiencing divine reversal in every area of my life!

Prayer 8: Mercy for the Weak and Tired

Father, I lift those who are weak and tired—those who have been fighting long and feel like giving up. By mercy, strengthen them. By mercy, refresh them. By mercy, revive them.

For every NSPPDian who is weary, let mercy carry them. For every intercessor who is exhausted, let mercy sustain them. For every warrior who is wounded, let mercy heal them.

I receive fresh strength by mercy! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 9: Mercy That Makes News for the Right Reasons

Father, I cry out for the mercy that causes me to make news for the right reasons. Let my testimony be so great that it cannot be hidden. Let my breakthrough be so public that newspapers report it. Let my miracle be so undeniable that even skeptics celebrate.

I am not just getting a testimony—I am becoming a headline! By mercy, the world will hear what God has done for me!

Prayer 10: Mercy That Guards and Protects

Father, I cry out for guarding mercy. Protect me from hidden dangers. Guard me from unseen attacks. Cover me from planned ambushes.

Let mercy go before me to prepare my way.
Let mercy follow behind me to cover my tracks.
Let mercy surround me as a shield.
Let mercy dwell within me as a witness.

I am protected by mercy! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 11: Mercy That Brings Access

Father, I cry out for access mercy. Open doors that no man can shut. Grant me access to places I could not enter. Connect me to people I could not meet. Position me where I could not sit.

By mercy, I access my destiny helpers.
By mercy, I access my breakthrough opportunities.
By mercy, I access my financial supply.
By mercy, I access my supernatural connections.

Access is granted by mercy! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 12: Prayer Over My Reversal Note

Father, I hold my Reversal Note before You. Every item written on this note—I commit it to Your mercy.

Let reversal happen in my health.
Let reversal happen in my finances.
Let reversal happen in my family.
Let reversal happen in my career.
Let reversal happen in my destiny.

As I have written it on earth, let it be established in heaven. As I have declared it in time, let it be manifest in eternity.

By mercy, my reversals are REVERSED! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer 13: Prayer Over My Congratulations Note

Father, I hold my Congratulations Note before You. By faith, I am congratulating myself for testimonies I have not yet seen. By faith, I am celebrating victories I have not yet won. By faith, I am rejoicing over breakthroughs I have not yet experienced.

Father, I have invited at least 3 new persons to join this Mercy Wednesday. I lift them before You. Let mercy locate them today. Let mercy meet them at their point of need. Let mercy turn their situations around.

As they encounter the Altar of Fire, let chains break in their lives. As they hear the word of prayer, let testimonies birth in their hearts. As they join their faith with ours, let wonders manifest in their stories.

Their breakthrough is connected to my blessing. Together, we win by mercy!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR – PASTOR JERRY EZE

Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze is the founder and Senior Pastor of Streams of Joy International and the convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD). Born on 22 August 1982 in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, he hails from Okoko Item in Bende Local Government Area.

He attended Ibeku High School in Umuahia from 1991 to 1997. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Abia State University and a postgraduate certification in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT). He also completed an MSc in Human Resource Management.

Before entering full-time ministry, Eze worked as a broadcaster and later as a communications specialist with the World Bank project for HIV/AIDS and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Eze began his pastoral ministry in 2009 at All Saints Chapel while still in the university, where he served as the student Campus Pastor. In 2013, together with his wife Pastor Eno Jerry, he founded Streams of Joy International Church in Umuahia. The ministry has since expanded to multiple branches across Nigeria, including Abuja, Aba, Owerri, and Uyo, as well as international locations in the United States (Atlanta, Houston, New York), Canada (Calgary, Edmonton), and the United Kingdom (Birmingham, Nottingham).

At the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, Eze started the digital prayer session called The New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), hosted on YouTube and other social media platforms. The session grew exponentially, attracting millions of views daily and becoming a leading platform for prayer with high engagement rates. The platform is known for its signature declaration: What God Cannot Do Does Not Exist.

Pastor Jerry Eze is married to Pastor Eno Jerry, who hails from the Efik people of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. They have two children: Samara and Jerry Jnr.

Eze describes himself as a deeply compassionate person, noting that compassion is an inevitable tool for the miraculous. He has shared that he is often moved by the messages and struggles of NSPPDians, and this compassion fuels the fervency of his prayers.
