An altar is a place where men have fellowship with divinity. It is a place where we spread our helplessness before God for His divine help. It is a place where we report our enemies to God. It is a place where destinies are empowered. It is a place of worship. In our fire scripture, apostle Paul gave us the key for building an altar which is founded in Christ, and that key is, presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice.

A living sacrifice is a life lived out for Christ. For you to live out for Christ, you must realise that you were born defiled (Psalm 51:5), live in a defiled world and have made personal choices which have defiled your body which is God’s temple. As such, there is need to be cleansed before such can be regarded as an altar unto the Lord.

Although there are physical altars built with hands, but the most efficacious altar is that of the human body which is regarded as God’s own temple when is sanctified. That is a living altar. To be God’s own temple, a living sacrifice comes with some conditions and costs. A polluted human body, defiled and unclean is nothing but an altar raised to the devil and a dead sacrifice!

Are you ready to commit and dedicate your body as a dwelling place for God. You must start with repentance from all known sins? You need a thorough cleansing with the blood of Jesus. You must decide to live a life that is pure and holy unto the Lord, a consecrated life. Depart from evil and embrace the truth! Flee from darkness and be translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, Jesus (Colossians 1:14). Surrender your life to Christ and endeavour to walk in the light of God; refuse to be conformed with the world and its vanities. Live a life that is set apart unto God, free from all internal and external pollution such as listed in Colossians 3:8-12 and be renewed from inside out. Continue to live a life of total obedience like Abraham; let God and His kingdom affairs come first in your life. Conduct your life wisely, following the footsteps of Jesus and never forget to examine yourself regularly, making sure you are standing in the faith of God.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

O Lord, set my altar of prayer on fire, in the name of Jesus.
Holy Ghost, incubate my altar of sacrifice and worship, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, let Your presence envelop my life, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING

O Lord, make me a living sacrifice for Your altar, in the name of Jesus.
I lose myself from the grip of evil altars holding me down, in the name of Jesus.
I destroy by fire every agreement of the powers of darkness to hinder me, in the name of Jesus.
My altar, the altar of God, arise and swallow every evil altar, in the name of Jesus .
