Jesus taught His disciples not to worry but to “seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). This was a promise, a commitment, and a pledge of action that you can also claim.
God knows you have emotional and material needs—food, shelter, and clothing. But Jesus said the focus of your life should not be set on material products or “feel good” experiences, but on God and
His kingdom. When your will is aligned with His, you find that He meets your needs and desires.
The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. . . . ‘At twilight
you shall eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread’ ” (Exodus 16:4, 12).
