Topic: He’ll Wipe Away All Tears
[DCLM Daily Manna 28 December 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Isaiah 25:1-12 (KJV)
Key Verse: “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it” (Isaiah 25:8)
MESSAGE:
Mrs. J.M. Hunter, a renowned 20th century hymn writer commented in one of her famous hymns titled: “He’ll wipe all tears away” that “as day by day I journey, I’m weary oft and worn; But to my heart, a message on wings of love is borne: It tells me there is coming A bright and happy day, when God, my heav’nly father, will wipe all tears away. He’ll wipe all tears away. He’ll wipe all tears away…He’ll wipe all tears away…He’ll wipe all tears away; our kind and loving father will wipe all tears away”.
Our text emphasises God’s messianic banquet, celebrating the overthrow of evil and the joy of eternity with God. It shows that God intended His saving message to go out to the whole world, not just to the Jews only. Both Gentiles and Jews will celebrate together.
At that time, God will end death forever. The people who will participate in this great feast will be those who have been living by faith. The Lord will save His own. When He speaks, He does what He says. It is comforting to know that God’s plans and activities are closely tied to His word. Also, His ultimate victory will be seen when death, our ultimate enemy, will be defeated and our tears will be wiped away. Then, we shall experience the glorious presence of the Lord. However, this experience is for the people who have waited patiently for His return. They shall have their tears wiped away forever.
Every sinner must come to the Lord in genuine repentance and the believer should rejoice in the salvation of the Lord until He returns to usher us into His blissful Kingdom, where there shall be no more tears forever!
Thought For The Day: Our light affliction today will give way to eternal bliss ultimately.
