Text: Isaiah 30:18-26 (KJV)
Key Verse: “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him” (Isaiah 30:18).
MESSAGE:
The theologian, Albertus Pieters, wrote a book on “Divine Lord And Saviour” in which he spoke of a man call Old Pete. According to the author, Old Pete’s little education did not deny him a good understanding of the Bible. Old Pete was quoted thus: “If God should take me to the mouth of hell and say to me, ‘Here you go, Pete; this is where you belong’. I would say to Him, ‘That’s true, Lord I do belong here, but if You make me go to that place, Your Dear Son, Jesus Christ, must go with me. He and I are now one and We cannot be separated anymore”.
That was a penetrating revelation which believers should be conversant with all their lives. We are knit to the Lord by our salvation through Him. While the Lord waits to receive the embattled guilt-ridden sinner who has failed repeatedly in his self-management strategies, He will not deny the believer the sound doctrine he needs to be victorious and prepare for heaven. In turn, man is expected to wait in prayer in enthusiastic expectation of the coming of Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, as they wait for His return, the Lord wants believers to embark on soul-winning in their community. He expects them to cross-rivers, descend valleys, climb mountains and traverse land and sea no matter how distant.
That way, we become inseparable from Jesus because we now live in His vision of propagating the Good News to the world. We can then say with Old Pete: “We cannot be separated anymore from the Son of God”.
Thought For The Day: We are with Christ in the noble mandate of soul-winning.
