Topic: Are You On The Lord’s Side?
[DCLM Daily Manna 24 September 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Revelation 17:9-14 (KJV)
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Key Verse: “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
MESSAGE:
It is common to say that life is full of battles, but the distinction between he who becomes a victim or a victor in the battle depends on whose side you are. Those who fight on the side of Christ are sure of victory at all times while those who are on Satan’s side are sure to be defeated. Avis B. Christiansen captured this in the second stanza of his poem, “Thou art my victory” when he said, “If He doth dwell within my heart, why need I strength implore? The Giver of all grace is mine. And shall I ask for more? And need I pray for victory, when He Who conquered death, Dwells in my very inmost soul…”
Today’s text falls within the teaching of the events of the last days referred to as eschatology. In the book of Revelation itself, two major battles were mentioned, namely the battle of Armageddon and the battle of Gog and Magog. However, in all these battles, Satan and his cohorts were the losers while Jesus Christ and His followers got the victory. Fighting on the Lord’s side is not automatic. You must first have heeded His call to salvation which qualifies you to be one of His chosen soldiers and stewards. Your sustenance and ultimate victory in His commission also depends largely on your faithfulness to His command and demand upon your life (Revelation 2:26).
Are you therefore currently undergoing difficult and challenging times? Are you facing what you think is the hottest and most difficult battle of your life ? Please note that Christ never promised a battle free life; but He certainly assured us of ultimate victory at last.
Just a little more prayer, patience, faith, steadfastness and hope, then you will sing the song of victory. Take a step of faith through repentance today to Christ’s victorious side if you know you are on the losing side.
Thought For The Day: Victory is certain for those who fight on the Lord’s side.
