[DCLM Daily Manna 12 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Psalm 18:1-19 (KJV)
Key Verse: “He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me” (Psalm 18:19).
MESSAGE:
A soft drinks company decided to give out crates of their products on one festive occasion to families in a particular beach, as a promotional strategy and also to measure the level of people’s gratitude. While some housewives received the gifts barely saying “thanks”, a particular woman was overwhelmed and grateful. Knowing that this woman was not poor, the curious company staff wanted to know why she was so grateful. “Oh”, she said, “I appreciate anything anyone gives me, from a smile to a cup of water, because it takes love to give somebody something”.
In this psalm the author declares his love, loyalty and trust in God. He went on to give an account of God’s deliverances for him and the display of His anger and power against those that rose up against him. He recounted God’s response to his distress calls.

David’s travails started soon after he killed Goliath and the women of Israel sang in recognition of that heroic feat. All through his life, he had one problem or the other to contend with. Yet, he was a man after God’s own heart because through it all, he learned to honour and praise God. He also sought after God’s will before taking major decisions of his life.
David proved beyond all doubts that someone can actually live a life of praise and thanksgiving irrespective of life’s challenges and afflictions. God wants His children to always live a life of thanksgiving and gratitude for His abundant goodness unto them. Learn to be grateful to God for the salvation of your soul, His keeping power, grace to live above sin, the Bible and the deep revelations of God therein and above all, for the hope of heaven. Arise today and rend the heavens with loud proclamations of the wonders and the glory of the Most High God.
Thought For The Day: Praise is glorious, an odour of sweet scent.
