Topic: Allow God To Lead You
[DCLM Daily Manna 12 January 2020 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Exodus 4:27-31
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
Key Verse: “And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him” (Exodus 4:27).
MESSAGE:
A quote from Amy Beatrice Carmichael, a Protestant Christian Missionary in India, who wrote there, aptly captures the topic of our discussion today.
“Strength of my heart, I need not fail, Not mind to fear but to obey
With such a Leader, who could quail?
Thou art as Thou were yesterday.
Strength of my heart, I rest in Thee,
Fulfil Thy purposes through me.”

Some people are at loss as to how to know and to do the will of God. In the ensuing confusion, they take the law into their own hands and usually make wrong assumptions. This in turn, leads to a more complicated situation, creating unnecessary problems where simple faith in God would have sufficed.
All through history, God has developed definitive ways of leading His children. Even when it appears that He had changed His original plan just because we crave some convenience and comfort, He would still stick to the first principles of getting His work done in His own way. There is never an argument when God is leading His people. He spoke to Aaron to go to the desert to welcome his brother, Moses, who narrated to him his experiences with God and the assignment he was to carry out. Together they gathered the Israelites briefed them on God’s plans for their nation, showed them the initial signs God had given Moses “and the people believed”, and worshipped the Lord.
Never get to a point when you begin to think that you know your interest better. God alone knows what is good for you. Whether in the choice of career, a partner to marry, a place to Leo live and do your business; indeed, in every area of life, ask God to guide and lead you into His perfect will. Therein lies the secret of peace and happiness, success and great accomplishments.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed.
