Text: Psalm 18:20-28 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
There’s this story of a man who lived an honest life, and died without leaving much for his children in form of inheritance. His daughter felt her father’s life was not good enough, until she attended an interview for recruitment into a certain corporation. She changed her opinion when she learnt from the Chief Executive Officer of the establishment that it was her father’s help years back that lifted him to become what he was. The lady got the job and later rose to become the CEO of that corporation with a resolve to uphold the virtues of her late father.

In our text, the psalmist highlights his virtuous life before the Lord. The Lord also rewarded him for keeping himself away from sin. The law of sowing and reaping states that “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. Everyone on earth is sowing something daily, knowingly or unknowingly. The words we speak are seeds, our daily decisions, actions and thoughts will eventually “germinate” to bring about varied results and happenings in the lives of men. Actions and inactions based on various decisions, will ultimately determine the eternal destinies of men. Joseph’s decision not to “do this great wickedness and sin against God” made him to reject Potiphar’s wife’s invitation to sin. Though he was imprisoned for his uprightness, God elevated him in due course.
As days, weeks, months and years are counting, and eternity draws nearer and nearer, we must exercise great discipline and self-denial for the incorruptible crown that awaits the overcomer at the end.
Thought For The Day: Sow good seeds and reap good harvest.
