TEXT: GENESIS 6:8-10; 8:18-21.
GENESIS 6:8-10.
8. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
9. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
10. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
GENESIS 8:18-21.
18. So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.
19. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.
21. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
TOPIC: NOAH.
MESSAGE:
The legendary Noah and a prophet of his time ended well because of his faith in God. Like Enoch, he was righteous and blameless before God. He led his children to taste the goodness of God even in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation. Noah found favour with God. He preached and warned his generation of the impending danger looming against their wickedness. Wickedness is ever increasing in our generation: same sex marriage, cannibalism, witchcraft and so on. God is looking for holy men like Noah to be entrusted with the mandate of declaring his will. To qualify, submit your life to Christ and be empowered to live a righteous and blameless life so that you can impact your generation.
REFLECTION:
It is possible to live a righteous and blameless life.
PRAYER:
Lord, may the attribute of Noah be my portion, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH OF MAY: HEBREWS 12:14.
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
