SUB-THEME: THE CROSS OF JESUS.
TOPIC: TURNS SINNERS TO SAINTS.
TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:16-21.
16. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
18. All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
19. that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
21. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
TOPIC: TURNS SINNERS TO SAINTS.
MESSAGE:
What a glorious thing for a sinner to be turned into a saint. The text reveals that the sinner has been turned from darkness to light and from flesh to spirit. God no longer counts your sins against you but crowns you with the title of a saint. This is what God has done and will continue to do to all who accept the reconciliation work of Christ through the cross. Your conformity is no longer to the world but to Christ. You are his ambassador saddled with the message of reconciliation. Now that you have a change of identity, you must live up to it. You must reflect the life of Christ; maintain his territorial integrity by not allowing intruders (sin, demonic involvement, addictions and so on) snatch away our members. Be vigilant in maintaining your position.
REFLECTION:
A saint should reflect Christ.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to reflect your life. Amen.
