TEXT: MATTHEW 28:16-20.
16 The eleven disciples went into Galilee to the hillside to which Jesus had directed them. Mat 26:32 Mar 14:28
17 When they saw him, they worshipped him, though some had doubts.
18 Then Jesus approached them and told them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Psa 8:7 Mat 11:27 Luk 10:22 Joh 3:35 Joh 17:2 1Co 15:27 Eph 1:22 Heb 2:8
19 Therefore, as you go, disciple people in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Mar 16:15 Joh 15:16 [Joh 20:21] [Act 10:42]
20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.” Joh 14:18.
TOPIC: JESUS COMMISSIONS HIS DISCIPLES.

MESSAGE:

After Jesus resurrection from the dead, he was endowed with all authority in heaven and on earth. Jesus in turn gave this power and authority to his disciples. He commissioned them to go and make disciples of all nations. The disciples were empowered to bring and mould men of all races of the world into one united family. Today, the church is empowered through the finished work of the cross to preach the gospel of salvation to everyone, baptising and teaching them to keep the faith until Christ returns. What are you doing with the power and authority you received from Christ? Do not hoard it or merchandise it, but use it to advance God’s kingdom.
REFLECTION:
Have you received the power and authority that Jesus gives?

PRAYER:

Father, thank you for the privilege to lead others to you. Amen.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: HEBREWS 12:2
“…who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.
