BIBLE PASSAGE: Daniel 10:12-15 KJV (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 15 December 2019)
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
MEMORY VERSE: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – “Ephesians 6:12” (scroll down for RCCG Sunday School 15 December 2019 HYMN)
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Demons are fallen angels who joined the devil (Lucifer) in the rebellion against God (Isaiah 14:12-16; Rev. 12:3-4). They are spirit beings (Matt. 8:16). Demons are referred to by several alternate names including unclean spirit (Mark 1:27), evil spirit (Acts 19:15), familiar spirit (Isaiah 19:3), lying spirit (1Kings 22:23), seducing spirit (1Timothy 4:1). Some of the false gods/idols that receive human sacrifices are described as devils, an alternative name also (Debut. 32:17, 1Cor. 10:20). They are powerful but limited and ultimately defeated creatures (2Thess. 2:6-7). Believers must understand the rulers operations of demons in order to avoid being their victims.

2 LESSON OUTLINES
LESSON OUTLINE 1: MANIFESTATIONS OF DEMONS
A Demons manifest in diverse dimensions and territories (Daniel 10:13). i. They seek to destroy the work of God and deceive anyone they can (1Peter 5:8, 2Corinthians 11:14-14).
ii. They spread false doctrines (1Timothy 4:1)
iii. Attack people (Mark 9:20-22)
iv. Combat holy angels (Daniel 10:13).
v. Demons, as spirit beings, have the ability to take possession of a physical body -human or animal (Mark 5:2,13).
vi. Demon possession involves a demon having a complete control over the thoughts and actions of a person (Mark 5:2-5).
B. Opening yourself up to the possibilities (likeliness) of demon possession is foolish and dangerous. This can generally occur through:
i. Habitual sins (1 Sam.2:12,17)
ii. A refusal to forgive (2 Sam.13:22-29)
iii. Unbelief or a hardened heart can be an entering point ( Ex.8:19; John 12:6).
iv. Involvement in idol worshipping or cults/occultic activities (1 Kgs.16:31).
v. Divination and new age practices (transcendental meditations or astral projections). (1 Sam.28:7-8).
vi. Drug/alcohol abuse.
vii. Rebellion and bitterness (1 Sam.16:14, 23; 18:10-11).
C. The absence of the Holy spirit in the life of a person makes such life vulnerable to demonic possession and even when delivered it becomes merely an empty dwelling place ready for more wicked demons to inhabit (Luke 11:24-26).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What can you do to avoid demonic possession?
LESSON OUTLINE 2: AVOIDING DEMONIC OPERATIONS
We cannot fight spiritual battles with fleshy weapons (2Cor. 10:4). To avoid demonic attacks and operations, a believer must:
i. First and foremost, be genuinely born again sanctified, filled with the Holy Spirit and always seek the knowledge of the word of God.
ii. Be prayerful, putting on the whole armour of God.(Eph. 6:13-18).
iii. Not shift his/her focus from Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:2).
iv. Fellowship with other true believers (Heb. 10:25)
v. Avoid ungodly associations (2Cor. 6:14-18).
vi. Note that Christ has disarmed the power and authorities of the devil and all demons (Col. 2:15, Eph. 4:8).
vii. Totally submit to God, exercise his/her faith (1Peter 5:9) and resist the devil (James 4:7).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Is it possible for a believer to be possessed by a demon? Discuss.
SUMMARY: Demonic activities are real. We must be spiritually sensitive so as not to fall victim.
CONCLUSION: Anyone that permits the operations of demons will not fulfill destiny because demons are destiny destroyers (John 10:10).
EVALUATION: Students should mention ways that people can be exposed to demonic possession.
CLOSING PRAYER: Father, shut every gate to demonic activities in my life.
ASSIGNMENT: Identify five (5) places believers should not go/visit to avoid demonic possession.

RCCG Sunday School 15 December 2019 HYMN
- O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
To rejoice at Thy birth. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day, Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?
