TOPIC: Exceeding Glory (TREM Devotional 21 April 2023)

“For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.” 2 Corinthians 3:9 (KJV)

Wisdom For The Day MESSAGE:

Paul, the Apostle of Grace, in his second epistle to the Church at Corinth, made comparisons between two dispensations — the dispensation of the Old Testament which he described as the “ministration of death” effected through the Law, which had a measure of glory, and the New Testament dispensation, which he described as “the ministration of the Spirit”, that was effected through the Righteousness of Christ, which exceeds in glory (2 Corinthians 3:7-11).

Once upon a time, we lived according to the old dispensation of condemnation that came by the Law which was glorious, so much so that the Israelites could not behold Moses’ face. However, that dispensation at its best was a fading glory. The ministration of Righteousness by faith in Christ, that replaced it, has a greater dimension of glory. This is the dispensation of the glory that is permanent and unfading, and we are partakers of this glory. Hallelujah!

I particularly love how The Passion Translation (TPT) captures Paul’s writings in verses 10-11 of that same scripture; “What once was glorious no longer holds any glory because of the increasingly greater glory that has replaced it. The fading ministry came with a portion of glory, but now we embrace the unfading ministry of a permanent impartation of glory.” (2 Corinthians 3:10-1). Did you see that? Whatever you thought was glorious in your past does not light a candlestick when compared to what you currently have because of the new dispensation of Righteousness by faith in Christ!

We are in the season of exceeding glory and God has released a permanent impartation of glory upon your life already. Therefore, regardless of how long or short, you have been a Christian, don’t become overfamiliar with what God is doing and leave things to chance. This is the time to position yourself rightly, regardless of your location, for the next dimension of God’s power that will be wrought in this season, throughout the nations of the world.
