33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

INTRODUCTION:

As it was discussed in the previous lesson, the finger of God can do wondrous things depending on man’s disposition to God. We shall further examine some of the practical manifestations of the finger of God in the scriptures and how we can benefit from it.

Jesus, as God in human form, touched several people to give healing, deliverance and expected miracles during His earthly ministry. Through His finger, He brought comfort to many in sorrow (Luke 7:11-16; Mark 5:22-23, 41-42).

He performed many other miracles with His fingers (John 9:6-7; Mark 1:40-42).

God is also a man of war (Exodus 15:3-4).

While He delivered the Israelites through the hand of Moses, He destroyed the Egyptians in the same Red Sea (Exodus 14:16, 19, 26-28). Jesus declared war against the people that turned the house of God into a ‘shopping mall’ (Matthew 21:11-13).

2. BE A BENEFICIARY AND NOT A VICTIM

You can be victorious through the finger of God or be a victim. The Bible tells us that God teaches our hands to war and our fingers to fight (Psalm 144:1; 2Sam. 22:35). God’s fingers can turn the weapons of the enemy targeted against His children back to the sender or to frustration (2Chron. 20:22-23; Isaiah 49:25; 54:17). All the diverse miracles enjoyed by the people in the Bible through the finger of God can also be your portion provided you are on the side of God. You must be genuinely born again, sanctified and obedient to benefit from the manifestations of the finger of God (Danniel 6:19-22; Acts 12:6-7).

However, anyone who refuses to be on the side of God becomes His enemy and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the Lord (Hebrews 10:31). Do not be a victim of God’s finger (Numbers 16:30-33; Daniel 6:24).

CONCLUSION:
The finger of God is still in operation today. Make up your mind to enjoy its benefits and refuse to be a victim.

QUESTIONS:
How does the finger of God bring war?
