A small decision to do good or
bad reaps a bigger crop.

Farmers plant seed because they expect to harvest a great deal more than they sow. A single seed can yield dozens and even hundreds of seeds.

It is the same way with righteousness and sin. A small decision to do either good or bad reaps a much bigger crop . . . for either joy or sorrow.

As Jesus illustrated in the parable of the soils, when you allow God’s Word to produce good things in you, the
results multiply: “He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty” (Matthew
13:23).

As a follower of Christ, you may become
discouraged when the present seed you are sowing does not appear to be producing an immediate crop.

Maybe, for example, you have been sharing the gospel with a loved one and praying for him or her to come to Christ. You have been waiting for the seeds you have sown to come to harvest . . . but nothing
has happened.

What you must remember is that
unlike the crops of the field, which get harvested at the same time each year, there is no timetable for the harvest of life.
