Sermon for today by Charles F. Stanley: Living the Principle

Topic :Living the Principle

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End,” says
the Lord, “who is and who was
and who is to come, the
Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).

What has God called you to do? Do His instructions seem extreme or confusing?

Has He challenged you to do something you don’t feel capable of doing?
Remember, it is not your job to understand God’s plan, just to obey Him. God sees the beginning, middle, and end of your situation, and His perspective is far more complete than yours. If you could just
see things from His point of view, you would be highly motivated to obey Him.

Unfortunately, if you disobey God, you will
continue to struggle in the same area repeatedly, and you will lose out on His blessings. God’s goal is to grow your trust in Him, so He will give you assignments that test your heart and mature your

The good news is that when you submit to God, He shows you His faithfulness and empowers you to do everything He calls you to do. Your obedience—even though you might not always understand what He is doing—exercises your faith and makes it stronger.

How will you live out Life Principle 5 this week?
Think of something specific you believe God has been calling you to do—or perhaps an area of your life that He wants you to turn over to Him. Spend some time in prayer, talking to Him about your concerns. Be honest about your fears and reluctance.
Ask Him to strengthen your resolve and help you embrace the risks that come with obeying Him.
Understand the goal isn’t to comprehend God’s will but to step forward in obedience. Then, after you pray, take that step. What that looks like will depend on what God is calling you to—but it should be bold, take you out of your comfort zone, and bring you measurably closer to God’s will for your life.

Life Lessons to Remember

Obedience must be the top priority of your life
(see Psalm 119:145).
The Holy Spirit enables you to walk obediently
before God (see John 14:26).
Obedience produces desirable fruit in your life
(see Jeremiah 29:11).
One of the main reasons people doubt
is because they lack understanding
that God is with them always. Anytime
you experience momentary doubt, get
on your knees, open your Bible, and
begin to read God’s Word.
