THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you are truly dedicated to God, you are ready to give up any relationship that comes in-between you and God.

In our study yesterday, we saw that dedication to God implies unconditional commitment to Him. It is a level of commitment to God without condition.

Today, we shall take a deeper look at the subject of dedication.

Now, why is understanding the subject of dedication necessary in life? It is necessary because what is not defined cannot be found; what you don’t understand, you cannot undertake. Therefore, to be dedicated to God, you must understand what dedication is all about.

What then does dedication to God imply? Dedication to God implies a level of relationship with God where nothing or nobody is allowed to come in-between. It is a commitment to God where nobody or nothing can come in-between you and God. This means, nobody or nothing is too big to forego in order to maintain your relationship with God. It is coming to a point where anyone who refuses to follow you to heaven, you don’t follow them to hell. Anyone who wants you to compromise your spirituality before they can do business with you, has nothing to do with you. You refuse any job that will mess up your Christian life. When you are dedicated to God, nobody or nothing is permitted to come in-between you and God.

In Scripture, Abraham depicts a good example of this kind of dedication. He was so dedicated to God that no one could come in-between him and God. In Genesis 12:1-5, God told Abraham to leave his father’s house and his kindred to the land that He (God) would show him, and he obeyed God. This means, he gave up all family relationships, bonds and ties that ran contrary to God’s direction for his life.

Beloved, when you are truly dedicated to God, you are ready to give up any relationship that comes in-between you and God. When you are truly dedicated to God, you are ready to give up any appointment that comes in-between you and your relationship with God. Nothing or nobody is allowed to come in-between you and your God.

My counsel, make up your mind that nothing or nobody will come in-between you and God.
