Charles F. Stanley ‘s sermon for today : God may reveal His will through unanswered prayer

Topic: God may reveal His will through unanswered prayer.

God answered Joshua’s prayer by literally causing the sun and moon to stand still.

The miracle definitely got the Israelites’ attention, for the author of Joshua
noted, “There has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man” (10:14).

Yet sometimes, God will reveal His will to
you not through answered prayer but unanswered prayer.

Most prayers are offered with the expectation— or at least the hope—of a yes response. But the Bible is clear that this is not always how God chooses to
work. Often, he will answer a prayer with no.

You can see this in the story of David after he committed adultery with Bathsheba and a child was born to
them. David prayed for God to save his infant son’s life, but the boy died (see 2 Samuel 12:15–18). The Lord may remain silent to your prayers as a way of
prompting you to examine yourself.
