Topic: Reviving Marital Relationship (Part 1)

Dear Reader,

Happy New Month! I welcome you into another exciting moment in God’s presence, in Jesus’ precious name! This month, God will be releasing upon every reader an unusual grace to be the doer of everything you learn from this platform thereby making our homes heaven on earth. Reviving Marital Relationship is the topic we will be examining this month.

You may ask, But why reviving? You will agree with me that in many homes, the level of love between a couple few years after marriage is not usually at the same level it was few months after the wedding. In most families, it is always on the decrease. This week, I will be sharing with you the first step to reviving or renewing your marital relationship. One of the things that must be in place is your Expectation. The Word of God says: For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18).

Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Your expectations as a couple go a long way in seeing your home a blissful one. Every man sets a stage for his miracle. It is your expectation that gets fulfilled. One key factor for the miraculous is expectation. Do you totally believe in the covenant of hitch-free marriage? Then you need to desire in your heart to see it become a reality and I see that becoming your experience as a family, in Jesus name.

Your expectations which are the desires of your heart must also be in line with the words of your mouth. The Bible says: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14). This means that both the desire of your heart and the words of your month equals your expectation. Having doubt in your heart and confessing with your mouth or vice versa will not guarantee your expectations to be a reality. Both the words of your mouth and the desire of your heart must be faith-filled to see your expectations become a reality.

Forget about old things; they are old. God is set to do a new thing in your family this month that will make you live every day of your life thanking Him. God is set but you have to be set too. To be set, you must be determined to do some things, especially if a successful home is what you desire this year. Don’t ever give room for complaints or comparison …but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise (2 Cor. 10:12).

Working in the reality of your expectation, you have to begin to see beyond your present situation. Husband, can you see a turnaround in the character of your wife? Can you see an abundance of peace, joy and harmony in your home? Wife, what do you see? Do you see your husband turning from his sinful habits to pleasing God this year? Do you see his business going up and he begins to provide more for the family? Can you see serenity in your home? As far as you can see, it shall be given to you. It is only what you see that you can possess. Stop seeing the negative. Stop seeing your business going down because of general economic problems. Stop deducing reasons why you think your family will not work. Stop celebrating failure.

Believe God and let it be counted to you for righteousness. If God has said it, let it be settled in your heart and in your actions, that He will do it. Many years ago, I made up my mind to believe God’s Word in Proverbs 4:18 and I have never had cause to doubt it. No previous year has been better than the current for me and my family. In fact, my present position is the greatest I have ever been. God is ever faithful. Friends, see what is good and you shall always have it.

Don’t determine the happenings in your home this year by the environment. See into the plans of God for your life and family life, and assure yourself of the best of times ahead. Someone once came to me for counseling years back and had been having a very tough time in marriage. As she spoke, I discovered that the root cause of her problems was her wrong idea about marriage. She had expected grief and calamity; so, when the storms rose against her marriage, she began to say, ‘They told me it will be like this’. What you expect is what you will get. Like my husband, Bishop Oyedepo, would always say, ‘Expectation is the mother of manifestation’.

God has promised to grant your expectations. So, let your expectations be based on God’s Word, for it is higher than any evil experience or information you may have had or heard about marriage. If you are already married, there is still a chance to change all negative expectations. As a couple, discuss your positive expectations and I guarantee that things will work out more smoothly in your home.

As single young men and women, what do you expect in marriage? It is important you set your expectation before getting into marriage. Your expectations shall not be cut off! Before my husband and I got married, we made discoveries from God’s Word that made us expect a hitch-free marriage. Till today, those expectations have not been cut off. If you expect the best, it will be yours!

A right expectation begins with a relationship with God. This is by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready to be born again, please say this prayer of faith with me: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. I believe you died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom, in Jesus name. Amen.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ name! TOPIC- What We Want to Hear April 5, 2018

Read: 2 Chronicles 18:5–27

I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. 2 Chronicles 18:7

As human beings, we are prone to seek out information that supports the opinions we hold. Research shows that we’re actually twice as likely to look for information that supports our position. When we’re deeply committed to our own way of thinking, we avoid having that thinking challenged by opposing positions.

Our Daily Bread 5, April 2018

Such was the case in King Ahab’s rule over Israel. When he and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, discussed whether to go to war against Ramoth Gilead, Ahab gathered 400 prophets—men he’d appointed to that role himself and would, therefore, tell him what he wanted to hear—to help them decide. Each replied he should go, saying “God will give it into the king’s hand” (2 Chronicles 18:5). Jehoshaphat asked whether there was a prophet who had been chosen by God through whom they could inquire of the Lord. Ahab responded reluctantly because God’s prophet, Micaiah, “never prophesies anything good about [him], but always bad” (v. 7). Indeed, Micaiah indicated they wouldn’t be victorious, and the people would be “scattered on the hills” (v. 16).

Lord, help me to seek and heed Your counsel.
In reading their story, I see how I too tend to avoid wise advice if it isn’t what I want to hear. In Ahab’s case, the result of listening to his “yes men”—400 prophets—was disastrous (v. 34). May we be willing to seek and listen to the voice of truth, God’s words in the Bible, even when it contradicts our personal preferences.

Lord, help me to seek and heed Your counsel even when it’s against my desires or popular thought. Our Daily Bread 5, April 2018

TOPIC – Who Is This? March 25, 2018

Read: Luke 19:28–40

Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Luke 19:38

Imagine standing shoulder to shoulder with onlookers by a dirt road. The woman behind you is on her tiptoes, trying to see who is coming. In the distance, you glimpse a man riding a donkey. As He approaches, people toss their coats onto the road. Suddenly, you hear a tree crack behind you. A man is cutting down palm branches, and people are spreading them out ahead of the donkey.

March 25, 2018, Our Daily Bread Daily Devotions

Jesus’s followers zealously honored Him as He entered Jerusalem a few days before His crucifixion. The multitude rejoiced and praised God for “all the miracles they had seen” (Luke 19:37). Jesus’s devotees surrounded Him, calling out, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” (v. 38). Their enthusiastic honor affected the people of Jerusalem. When Jesus finally arrived, “the whole city was stirred and asked, ‘Who is this?’ ” (Matthew 21:10).

Lord, I want others to see You in me and to know You too.
Today, people are still curious about Jesus. Although we can’t pave His way with palm branches or shout praises to Him in person, we can still honor Him. We can discuss His remarkable works, assist people in need, patiently bear insults, and love each other deeply. Then we must be ready to answer the onlookers who ask, “Who is Jesus?”

Lord, may my life and my words express what I know about who You are. I want others to see You in me and to know You too.

We honor God’s name when we live like His children.

Do you sometimes struggle with finding the right words and right time to speak about Jesus? Your concern and hesitancy may be from God. There is a time to speak and a time to be quiet (Ecclesiastes 3:7). The Spirit knows the difference. Sometimes He is in the quiet moments and thoughtful actions that prepare the way for words later. Sometimes He enables us to fill a silence so ripe for words that if we don’t gently express our confidence in Jesus, it might feel as if even “the stones will cry out” (Luke 19:40).

Open Heaven 24 March 2018 Saturday –Lesson From the Ten virgins

Memorise: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:13

Open Heaven 24 March 2018 Read Matthew 25:1-13 (KJV)

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Open Heaven 24 March 2018 Message
In the Jewish culture and tradition, wedding festivities are usually held in the evening and run into the night. Typically, the bridegroom would go to meet his bride in her father’s house with lamps, and the bridal train would proceed from the bride’s father’s house to the groom’s house, where a feast would be provided from the invited guests.

It was against this backdrop that the Lord Jesus Christ gave the parable of the ten virgins. In general, the parable speaks of the second coming of our Lord and the judgement that will accompany His return. In this parable, the Lord classified the people His message was targeted at into two groups: the wise and the foolish.

There are various lessons to be learnt from this parable of the ten virgins, especially because it contains a lot of symbolism with deep spiritual meanings. The virgins, lamps, oil, the absence of the bridegroom, slumbering and sleeping, the midnight, the cry, the trimming of lamps, having no oil, asking for oil, the refusal to give oil, entering into the feast, and several other aspects of the story represent different aspects of our Christian race to heaven.

OPEN HEAVENS 24 MARCH 2018
However, we will be considering just a few lessons behind some of these metaphors. The virgins represent the Church, while Jesus is the Bridegroom. The message of the parable is therefore for the Church and not for the world. We are warned in this parable that our Bridegroom may delay His coming. Open Heaven 22 March 2018

He may not come at the time we expect, but He will surely come at midnight, meaning that He will come suddenly and unexpectedly. Note that all the virgins who set out to meet the bridegroom dozed off and slept. The only thing that separated the wise virgins from the foolish ones was the level of their preparedness. Open Heaven 23 March 2018

The wise virgins took extra oil with them in anticipation of a delay in the bridegroom’s arrival, while the foolish ones failed in this regard. They obviously did not anticipate that the coming of the bridegroom’s arrival, while the foolish ones failed in this regard.

They obviously did not anticipate that the coming of the bridegroom could be so delayed. Their failure to take extra oil made the difference and determined their fate. The Lord will take only those who are ready at His coming into the marriage supper. The door will be shut against those who are not ready after the call has gone out, and it will not be opened to anyone who comes late.

The practical lesson of this parable therefore is the unexpected nature of the Lord’s Coming. We must be ever ready to meet the Lord. The lamps of our faith and Bible study must be kept burning all through the day and night. We must uphold and defend the truth in the word of God.

We must not allow modern thinking and liberal theology to water down or pollute our faith. We must keep our focus on the message of the gospel as we continue to follow the footsteps of our Master, Jesus Christ.

Prayer Point – Open Heaven 24 March 2018

Father, please help me never to lose sight of Your second coming in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven Hymn 24 March 2018 Sing hymn 9

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS
On a hill far away stood an old
rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and
Shame;
And I love that old cross where
the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was
Slain.

Chorus:

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last l lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it someday for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so
despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For dear Lamb of God left his
Glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

In that old rugged cross, stained
with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ‘twas on that old cross Jesus
suffered and died
To pardon and sanctify me.

To that old rugged cross I will ever
be true,
Its shame and reproach gladly
bear;
Then he’ll call me some day to my
home far away,
Where his glory forever I’ll share.

TOPIC- Same Spirit, Same Power a Daily Devotional Written by Joel Osteen 20th March 2018

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.”
(Romans 8:11, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD: Word For Today Joel Osteen

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit makes His home inside of you. That’s God Himself, the same Spirit with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead! His resurrection power can bring back health, strength and life to your physical body. He can restore hope and breathe life into your dreams. In fact, He can resurrect any area that may seem dormant on the inside of you!

The next time you feel overwhelmed by sickness, challenges or despair, remember, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you through Christ Jesus. You may have been burdened by an addiction, fear or worry, but there’s nothing that can stand against the power of God. Rise up and declare by faith, “He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I am restored and healed in the name of Jesus! No weapon formed against me can prosper!” Receive His truth, declare the Word, and activate His power within you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Joel Osteen

Father in heaven, thank You for filling me with Your power by the Holy Spirit. I choose to feed my faith by declaring Your Word. I choose to walk in Your ways and honor You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen. Word For Today Joel Osteen

Daily Grace Inspirations March 20, 2018

TOPIC- LET GOD LOVE YOU INSTEAD by Joseph Prince

1 John 4:10

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

“You have to love God more! You must have more passion for God!” You have probably heard this type of preaching and may have even tried your best to love God, only to fail miserably.

But what is the true definition of love? Let the Bible define it for us: “…this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us…” Yes, it is not about our love for Him, but His love for us!

“Pastor Prince, the Bible says that you must love God with all your heart, soul and strength!”
Daily Grace Inspirations March 20, 2018

Yes, that is true according to the law (Deuteronomy 6:5), and even Jesus taught that as the great commandment when He walked on earth. (Matthew 22:37) But that was before He died on the cross. At the cross, He became the very fulfillment of this law for us when He loved us with all His heart, soul and strength, by laying down His body and life on the cross for us.

Today, we are no longer under the law but under grace. And grace tells us that God loves us, not that we love God. Yet, we will love Him when we see how much He loves us. The Bible says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8) That’s how much He loves us!

Beloved, God has seen you trying your best to love Him. And because He loves you, He wants you to sit down and be still, and let Him love you instead. He wants to love you with all that He is and all that He has. He loves you unconditionally regardless of who you are or what you have done because His love is not dependent on you but on Himself. He will never stop loving you.
Daily Grace Inspirations March 20, 2018

So let God love you today. Don’t worry about loving Him. The more of His love you receive, the more you will fall in love with Him!

Our Daily Bread – Daily Devotions from the Word God Our Daily Bread March 19, 2018

TOPIC – The Art of a Grateful Heart Our Daily Bread March 19, 2018

Read: Psalm 118:1–14, 26–29

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1

On our wedding day, Martie and I gladly vowed to be faithful “in good times as well as in bad, in sickness as well as in health, for richer or for poorer.” In a way it may seem strange to include vows about the bleak reality of bad times, sickness, and poverty on a cheerful wedding day. But it underscores the fact that life often has “bad” times.

Our Daily Bread March 19, 2018

So what are we to do when we face life’s inevitable difficulties? Paul urges us on behalf of Christ to “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). As difficult as that may sound, there is good reason why God encourages us to embrace a spirit of gratitude. Gratitude is grounded in the truth that our Lord “is good” and “his love endures forever” (Psalm 118:1). He is present with us and strengthens us in the midst of trouble (Hebrews 13:5–6), and He lovingly uses our trials to grow our character into His likeness (Romans 5:3–4).

God, teach me to have a grateful heart.
When life hits us with hard times, choosing to be grateful focuses our attention on the goodness of God and gives us the strength to make it through our struggles. With the psalmist, we can sing, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” (Psalm 118:29).

Lord, I realize that focusing on my troubles causes me to forget that even in the midst of trials You are good. Teach me the art of a grateful heart.

Thanksgiving is a virtue that grows through practice.

The writer of Psalm 118 knew about the struggles of living in a fallen world. Even when surrounded by enemies, the psalmist’s confidence in the Lord remained strong (vv. 8–9, 13–14, 28). Note the opening and closing verses. Despite the dangers he faced, the psalmist begins and ends by choosing to praise God: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Are you in the midst of a trial? Meditate on the Lord’s goodness and His enduring love.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.

TOPIC – Perseverance Pays – by Joyce Meyer MARCH 17, 2018

In the early years when we were building our ministry, Dave and I went through a lot of difficult tests. I needed to work on my attitude. We needed to work on our marriage and how we handled money.

For six years I bought my socks and underwear at garage sales. We were totally broke—and I was teaching about God’s abundant provision in our lives!

Not only that, it just wasn’t popular for women to preach back then. We lost friends and had family members who didn’t want anything to do with us.

It was just hard, and sometimes I wanted to quit. But today I am so glad I stuck with God because there are people all over the world who have been helped because of our ministry.

Scripture tells us in Matthew 19 that we will have to leave “important” things behind for the sake of following Him. We didn’t have everything we thought we needed back then, but the trade-off ended up being more than worth it.

Prayer for today –   Joyce Meyer

Persevere in your walk with God, even when it’s hard. Stay focused on Him, and it will all pay off when you experience the victory He has for you. Bible Inspiration March 17, 2018 by Joyce Meyer
